A guy pulls up in a stock evo calmy driving into the lot infront of a huge crowd of car enthusiasts and guys are just staring the car down the second he pulls in to the second he parks. Few minutes later a civic hatch comes in revving and openin up his bov and people glanced at him for a few secs and that was about it.
but back on topic...there are tons of choices and what you plan on doing with it. If you just want somethin cheap to build up, get a older DSM or a honda like this guy is talkin about that will kill evos.

00-05 saab 9-5 aero. 260hp turbo 4. rare. luxurious. ventilated seats. handles like a boat though. "goes from 40-80mph faster than a porsche 996 turbo."- top gear. with just a chip, you are pushing 280whp. 
the cleanest 1993-1997 Rx7 i could find.. Bone stock with like 25,000 miles of un modded rotory power. For being 9-13 years old the car still looks better than half of the new cars being made, not to mention NO OTHER CAR sounds like it, well other than a street bike

Call me crazy but... a primer crown vic with an engine swap for something to get reasonable gas mileage...like a 460 super cobra jet. Maybe even a supercharger to really get that good mpg haha.
