Thumbs up Haven't bought the EVO yet?..BUY THIS SOME*****!!!!

Okay boys..

There are few cars that I have seen in my lifetime that get me as HARD as this one does..

If you haven't bought a car yet, or have the cash to throw down, BUY THIS CAR..

BUT FIRST!!

Read this article ....and then try to guess what it is...

The little ___________ was originally designed to compete in the Group 4 class, the predecessor to Group B, and it had rear-wheel-drive and a mid-engine layout, a complete reversal of the road car's original design. The first ___________ appeared in 1980, where it attracted a lot of attention; the car was almost as wide as it was long, and it had a lot of horsepower for such a small car, due to its turbocharged engine borrowed (albeit detuned) from_________Formula 1 program.

While the car wasn't a major success in international rally competition, it accomplished what every French rally team dreams of winning: it won both the Monte-Carlo and Tour de Corse rallies. A second generation appeared in 1984, and won the 1985 Tour de Corse in the hands of Jean Ragnotti - quite a feat considering it was up against more powerful competition. The _________ is still very popular among enthusiasts. Its low weight, nimble handling and excellent acceleration make the car very enjoyable to drive.

What is it???? Any guesses???

First one to guess it gets the link to see some cool pics of it...

Sorry, best "prize" I can give ya...Thought a little trivia would be fun, and it is a cool car...Guess away!!

Renault R5 Turbo

Next time you have to use your own words so it can't be pulled up in a search engine.

R5-Turbo and "2nd" interation - R5-Turbo 2

My dad owned a red one and sold it to his good friend. My uncle owned a White one. Another of my dads good friends owned a black one used for parts.

My dads friend who owns his now, is getting the engine rebuilt after blowing an oil line and siezing the engine - it runs DTA standalone with electronic fuel injection (came with mechanical)
this guys cousin owned one as well, but sold it.

Turbo 1 is very rare and worth upwards of 20g's for good condition.

turbo 2 is rare as well but missing a lot of the flair inside of the cabin interms of seating and dash - no full leather and contrasting carpets and dash. turbo 2 was more normal

Those never had much hp did they? even in turbo form i thought they only had 180 or so.?

I had a Shogun (1 of only 8 made) with a Taurus SHO engine stuffed into the back. 220hp with 2300lbs (roughly) to pull around. Stupid as hell looking.... at least I made a few $ on it when I sold it.
