Jetta GLX
Jetta GLX
I believe it's a 2002 or '03. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it even worth it. The turbo feature kinda intrigued me, but is it even worth it? Here's some specs I found on it ->
2.8L 200 hp, 181 lb-ft torque, 6 cylinder VR6,
15-degree V, gas
2.8L 200 hp, 181 lb-ft torque, 6 cylinder VR6,
15-degree V, gas
The 2.8 is not turbo equiped but the 1.8 4 cylinder is.
I know someone with a 2001 GLX but it has the 2.7L Vr6. The best thing about the car is the dash at night. The engine has decent power with a nice broad torque range. The worst thing about the car is the sloppy suspension setup, the poor stick on the manual, and the fact that there really isn't anything exiting about it. I'd much rather spend an extra 5 grand and get the EVO VII.
Go over to the vortex for a huge VW forum and more info.

Thanks you two!
I wasn't asking because I was interested in getting one, but I've heard all the hype. And I've heard that stupid new Turbo Jetta commercial it seems everytime I'm in the car, and I wanted to know what it was all about.

All stock U.S. VR6's are 2.8L. The best thing about them when they're stock is the stump pulling torque of the VR6. Also the MkIV Volkswagen Chassis is extremely stiff. VR6's are a tough engine to mod cheaply, but if you have 5 grand to put into a turbo kit, everything this side of a 911 turbo better watch out. I believe EIP got a reliable 320 whp out of a VR6 with their stage 2 turbo kit
I have a '98 GTI VR6, which is the previous chassis design, and I love it. It hasn't given me any problems.
