I watched a Best Motoring video yesterday (Factory Fighters) with the Evo VIII MR thing in it, and it started talking about Mazda releasing a Turbo'd version in the U.S. and a Coupe version also.

Anybody know about these at all?

 

That depends on how long ago that BM episode was filmed. Were they referring to the turbocharged Mazdaspeed Miata which came out a few years ago?

There have also been speculation about a coupe based Miata for some time now, based on the newer style MX-5's.

 

Ya the Mazdaspeed Miata has been out for a few years. A miata coupe would be interesting to see although I'd imagine it would look pretty similiar to the hard-top model they have now.

Miata is being released in 07 with a folding hard top and there's speculation the Mazdaspeed turbocharged motor used in the MS3 and 6 will be dropped into the Miata as well.
