Now, if they just put the S2k engine in it and made it rear wheel drive...

Until Honda catches up and passes the current status quo of the hot version having forced induction I couldn't care less.

I know they have the new SUV thing with a turbo on it but, it isn't a sports or sporty car. Let me know when they slap a turbo on the S2000.

That is a sharp little minivan but, what does that have to do with the type....oh, never mind.

J/K.

I find myself on the fence with that body style SI. Some days I think they're hideous then, others I think they are funky and different enough to be cool. Yours is pretty clean.

Civic type R's have always been nice cars. In fact, the EP9 braked better than the DC5 (shorter stopping distance). They're great to drive but really, if you've driven evo's they're going to be a bit disappointing. If you think evo's understeer these will move your handling definitions to new dimensions. And yes, Honda makes great engines and everthing, but IMO they're just too rev hungry. It's all well and good to say we're petrolheads and run crazy revs anyway but these these things really have jack$hit under 5,800rpm. You have to change gears like a chimp on crack to get any kind of decent performance. Don't get me wrong, they're real good cars, just a bit tiring. Perhaps the 07 will be different though but I wouldn't bet on it.

I was thinking it liked like the 206 as well. Although I love the wing like that. Its a car id have to see in person. the front looks ok but the taillights might look retarded in person. Clarkson I think is gonna tear it apart looks wise. If you ever catch it on tv or the vid online make sure to post it up. I dont know what time that show is on anymore.

It's okay, but I suspect that the priceerformance quotient over a base Civic Si (or compared to some other $25k sporty cars) wouldn't be very good.

I've been driving Evos since 03, so I don't even look at the latest high revving, no-torque, crisp handling, racer-boy look, SLOW HONDAs. I've been driving Evo's for 58,000 miles and I'm definitely spoiled. I have absolutely ZERO interest in anything Honda has to offer. I like Civics...They are just a different type of car for a different type of owner. Until Honda puts together a package that is faster and better handling than an Evo...it's just another slow econo-box to lap at the track...and I have to listen to the annoying lawnmower-on-steroids exhausts on the street. HONDA...how can you let Mitsubishi BEAT YOUR ENTIRE LINEUP WITH THE SLOW STICK?

the s2k rule the Evo/STi at auto-x (check SCCA stock class), and on a very tight road course the s2k also has the advantage, stock for stock.

so Honda did kinda make a car that's as good or sometimes better than the Evo of course the Evo has better performance than the s2k as well, but it's not overall dominating like u're making it out to be mate.

It depends on where in the 'performance envelope' we're talking about. There are times when one will walk over another. Unfortunately, in most situations, the evo/sti will have the upper hand.
I am not saying anything aginst Honda as such. Mitsu and Subie have to stick in a turbo, a transfer case and another diff + all electronic awd control known to man to beat them. Evo's and Sti's are remarkable cars and have been known to beat Lambo's and such so I don't think the fact that they have better performance than the s2k or the itr or the civic type r in certain departments is an insult to those cars at all. Those type R cars are remarkable acheievments in their own rights...
