A 4g63 unreliable? yea thats pretty stupid, if it was a unreliable engine then why has mitsu been using it since the first evo? The engine is really reliable. Havent you heard people with 500+ whp on stock block?

 

You're right. He should've thrown in a motor from a new GT3.

 

I'm sure it was just as cheap for him to do that.

 

Porsche isn't exactly notorious for their reliability, despite what car magazines like to send to press about them.

However, I would definitely not desecrate a Porsche 911 by putting a Mitsubishi motor or any other branded motor but a Porsche motor in it.

However, there are a few Porsches that I would desecrate...the 928, 944, and 914. I'd dump LT1s in the 944 and the 928, but drop a Flat 4 into the 914. I'm pretty sure that's a common swap and there is actually a kit for it....

 

After all was said and done, it may have been....

 

Pretty hard to beat the power/weight ratio of the 4G63 engine...what would really be sick if he swapped in a rotary engine instead =)

 

wow, ever hear the haters say you have a DSM, and it stands for don't start motors. The last few evos have been more refined and reliable, because basically if mitsubishi didnt do it there were toasted. If my evo had the relibility of a true DSM I dont think I could stand to own it. knockin on wood as we speak.
