Supras are great when modded, but basically run a 14 second quarter mile stock.

Another negative about the Vette is the new ones look 10 times better than the older ones.

Supra all day. Worked at toyota for a year and a half and we had a customer that had a 750 hp single turbo supra that had around 90k on the STOCK BLOCK!! Where else can you find a car that reliable? You've got a car that if has had basic maintence kept up with can last for hundreds of thousands of miles and still push out over 1000 hp on the stock block. You dont even need to do a single turbo conversion for them to be really fast. Ive seen plenty of supra that did basic bolt ons and turned up the boost and they were running low 12's all day long. That my .02c and my experience with them. Sorry to see you giving up the Evo and good luck!

That is a personal choice. I like the C5 Z06s so you can't count that one, I can say the newer vette is uglier also.

Tripperfx3,

I agree with what you said however we start the subject with two downsides on the Supra:

1) The unfair and unjustifiable cost of a used Supra itself
2) The excessive price to get them to put down 750whp

well for 600 whp supra you figure
$5k on turbo kit
$400 on injectors
$120 on fuel pump
$1500 on standalone

does that sound about right?

Very true. I did leave that out. Parts are expensive. Forgot about that part. Its well worth it though once you get there, but stock for stock the performance value of the Z06 would be better, but yet again iam biased because im not a huge fan of american cars. The corvette is the one american car i would own though.

Markourn,

Then intercooler, wider tires, full exhaust, cost of labor for installing parts, cost of tunning, that is another $3000-5000...

Close to it, but also add in clutch upgrades. The stock clutch wont hold up to 600 hp.

Just out of mild curiosity, where do you think you'll find a used Supra for under 30K? These days even the beaters with the poorly planned/executed mods are going for 40K+. I saw a listing recently for a stock TT 6Spd with low miles... asking 70K!

Thats way too much! No way will they get that! My old manager at Toyota bought a mint 98 TT 6 speed for 35k. It had under 30k on it. That was just a little over a year ago. Last i heard he just sold it for the same amount, but he only put like 3k miles on it. He barely drove it when he had it.
