I am going to get a temporary car for about 2-3 months seeing as I got a really good deal on my current car (Accord) and I have about 10 and change to spend on a car.

Was wondering what some of you would think is a good pick, I was looking at the 98 Cobra and also the 98 328is..

I want something with some decent power that I can have fun with.

i had a toyota mr2 turbo as a 3 month temporary solution before the Evo.

got her for around 3500. with 10k u could find a very mint one at like 7500 and save the change. these cars are reliable if it's taken care of by previous owner.

some other fun cars under 10k...honda's (civic si, integra), 240sx, 300zx, miata etc....

keep in mind if u're keeping the temporary solution car for only 2-3 months, the temporary car has to last 2-3 months reliably, and has to be easy to sell after 2-3 months.

now the mr2 turbo took me about a week or less to sell....just make sure u dont get stuck with ur temporary solution cuz that could be painful.

ps. one suggestion is to go to craigslist or autotrader search around ur zip and look for all cars under 10k...that could give u some idea.

and a E36 M3 also fall into my category with high miles, I found a couple 96 M3s with under 100k miles for 10k or 11k and thats without bargaining

 

I don't like the looks of the SRT-4 very much, but I assume that car can be very fun considering its low milage, 10k, and 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.
