You know, I just went through and read the linked thread. After getting over the initial shock of the pictures I have a lot more respect for this project now.... The cliff notes are...

He has had this car since '99 he loves the car, but it's not his daily driver and he only wants to part with it if it's totalled, so he figured he may as well come up with a fun project for little money (he has spent $1,300) and learn something. If all goes well (the car is running but I don't think driving right now) he has plans to replace the turbos with bigger units and up the boost to 18psi, and do a 5spd conversion.

I can totally respect that. It may not be the conventional way of doing things, or even the way 'we' would have done it. But the fact is that he HAS done it, most of us haven't, and in the process he has probably forgotten more about how to do this than most of us (including myself) will ever know.

I know of a couple of people on this forum that have bucked the trend, and taken on a massive project hacking their Evo's apart in the quest to do something different and cool. They get a lot of respect on here. This is basically the same thing only on a cheap car and a tight budget.

So now I say good luck to him, I like it and hope it ends up running good!! (still don't see the point of the radio though).

This is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in quite some time. How on earth could the person even think for a second that this was safe for any amount of time? I guess it's safe while nobody's in the car.

What happened to the passenger seat in the last picture? It looks like it was replaced by a huge mess of metal in the first few pics.

I'm sorry, but looking at it, I'm just really confused.
Can someone kindly explain where things flow from and to and so on?

I mean, the engine bay pic shows an intercooler connected to...? And what ever it connects to, the pipe going across the car heas a hole in it for some reason.

Then there's a pipe going from the intercooler(?) which faces the passenger window with apparently no inlet but with an outlet that goes towards the back of the car for....?

The intercooler that you guys are looking at in the passenger seat isn't an intercooler at all. its the honda civic type intake that looks like an intercooler. I've seen horsepower tv and thats what they put on there project civic. plus alot of ppl were trying to rock out this "intercooler/intake" where i live, and say they have a turbo, but couldn't show nobody.

That has to be one of the most insanely stupid things I've seen in awhile. If there's a leak ANYWHERE in the cabin, the last thing I need is some guy passing out on the highway and causing a huge accident.
