isn't Ranger one of the best vette drivers at the drag strip?

real or not, mid 11's and 125mph seems to be the average time for the c6z...and for a stock car at any price (esp. 65-70k) that is MIND-BENDING.

if Ranger did achieve those times....wow.

Ranger is the Curt Brown of the Corvette community. Yes that is his best yet and I got a private message from him on his way of launching the Z. I'm getting a 07 Z and I'm on those forums a lot.

I'll bet he gets that Z into the high 10's real soon with the weather cooling down.

Very fast times for a out of the box stock car.

Can't wait to get it an do a little modding.

I do believe WhtEvo that the EVO will be a winter car or gone after a couple of months in the new Z06. I drove one for 15 miles and it's makes my EVO feel like a toy. To think bolt ons will get you in the 130's add a little juice on a window switch and you'll see 140mph all on pump or pump/Torco.

When I get the viper I doubt the EVO will be in the stable for long, but we'll see. Can't wait for 07'!!

wow. The new z06 is sensational. It ridiculous to doubt or deny it's ability anymore. It's been thoroughly proven to be the real deal.

I've re-read a Road and Track article with the z06 v. 997turbo v. F430 and ferrari wouldn't even supply R&T with an official test car - no doubt for fear that the z06 would totally embarrass it, particularly for the $. They had to borrow a 430 from a private citizen.

The Z06 just spanked the new 911 Turbo on a track in Swedan. It's a 1.27 vs 1.30 almost 3 seconds. The only people that can say anything negative is a domestic hater. The interior is far better than a Nsx, Supra, or the like. HUD is awesome and every car should have it IMO.

Enough of that though because I can't afford one and a viper.

Seems believable considering he ran that at Cecil which is known to be an extremely fast track.

Hey Jasil I think we will keep the Evo as a project car and maybe a track only car someday but we are picking it up from AMS Friday ( I will post a thread when we get back) and I'm looking forward to getting to know this 700+whp beast a little bit better. Ams has been doing a few new things to it and it should be fun.

Plus Ams said this Evo should be good for mid to high 9's on race gas with my set up so it will take me a while to get the Z up to that level if I ever do. I might go more for setting the Z up for road racing. I used to road race for about six years when I had my 911 and I think I enjoy it better than drag racing but I do like both to be honest.

I'm lovin the new Z and I can't wait to get it. Been talking with a lot of the better Vette shops about what to do as far as modifications go and they all tell me It will be a different driving experience from the Evo AWD vs RWD but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it quickly. By the way every Corvette shop I've talked to respects the Evo for what people are getting out of a 4 bangerl. In fact one shop I talked to has a Evo and the guys were saying they love to throw it around the track.

When you getting that Viper? I here they are going to up the HP to around 600 in 08! That car will fly along with the new SS, Sting Ray whatever they call it.

Like I said before this sort of competition is good for performance motorsports. We all benefit form what they learn on the track.

Keep us posted on the Viper.
