What market are they out of touch with? The small handful of people who want a V8 rear wheel drive focus and are willing to pay $25-35k for it? I'd rather see them bring the RS over than try to sell a V8 powered Focus, and I suspect the RS would sell much better.

 

I don't see how they are out of touch with the market, it is an economy car. add the v8, supercharger, etc and you no longer have an economy car, also the price tag would be too much. perhaps they could offer those things as a performance package, but I don't think that would ever happen either, because they wouldn't want to warranty it (the car was not built for this purpose).

 

now all of you know that deep down inside you will drive a rwd 500hp focus... i know i would

Would be nice to see a lancer with that kinda off-the-wall mod.. but mitsu doesn't have such lovely alternatives to engines... someone needs to put a VW w12 in a lancer!

 

Bozz Speed and Norris have Evos far in excess of 500hp with the 4G63. Check out Jocce's Evo (Swedish guy who posts here) his Evo is CRAZY - there are some vids of his car.... He would give this Focus a run

 

wow but for over 70 grand is it worth it.. The article said it cost 69,500 plus the cost of the car. It is awesome but at what expense

 

 

to spend 70'000 on a small *** focus??? i'm better of with a clk 55 amg, a bmw or somethin like that......it's just aint worth it moreover the RS still a better car than the focus SVT

ok, i'll put it this way...

focus svt = 17,000
v8 conversion = 69,500

dodge viper = 80,000

you'd have to be bent to take the focus over the viper.

 

why would anyone spend 70 grand on modding a focus. and then only get warranty for 24000 miles.
