The '01 911
The '01 911
well i sold my evo a few months ago.. and im thinking about buying a 01 non-turbo 911 ... anyone have any knowledge of this car or know anyone that has one and could say if its good?
its a 01 with 36k , silver on black, 6 spd, aero kit, wheels, exhaust. theyre asking 42 for it.

42K is a little too deep
beware that most 996 have suspension problem and water-leakage. I was also looking at one but all my friends that had 996 told me not to, unless it's the exotic like the turbo model or GT2. Maintance on Porsche ain't no joke

Turbo's command big bucks. I thought I would sell my Evo and buy a used 911 turbo until I started looking at what they are selling for. Too rich for my blood.

The 01 996 isn't too much different than the 00 and 99, you could pick up an earlier year for even less money.
As for maintenence, read around on rennlist and 6speedonline. For the most part they are reliable machines. There was a problem with the RMS but I have never heard of suspension problems or anything else major.

i hang out around rennlist a lot, i have a 2000 carrera with 106k miles no problems at all except for one sensor that cost 200 bucks to fix. the price sounds right but you could still find better ones with more options. i say go for it these cars are magic. i can't explain what it is you just have to own one to understand.
