I like anyone can appreciate personalization but to turn this car back to something that doesn’t burn the retinas would involve the following modifications.
  1. Re spray car in non offensive color (AKA not gold)
  2. Remove ghastly decals
  3. Ditch the akimbo washboard vents on the hood
  4. Catch the lower lip on a speed bump to remove that affliction
End product a box stock STI still not pretty to behold but better than this!
And this is coming from a Miata driver so take what I say with a grain of you know what.
Hey powersmx5, I'm so glad you posted here, I almost forgot to tell you...

Your boyfriend called and said he needs you to get the Miata and pick him up right away. That gerbil you put up his *** gave him a terrible infection and needs to go to the doctor. He needs you to hold him.

I'm not catholic, so I will never call that priest, "father". No disrespect, honestly. You can count on me though, I'll never tell your dark little naughty secret. I hope he gets better soon, cuz you guys are so darn cute together. I told you that Miata was a dude magnet, didn't I?

Hey, don't feel bad about the gerbil thing. It definatly wasn't a size thing; you just gotta keep the gerbils really clean, that's all. He's pretty "experienced", you know? I mean you basically can park your Miata up his ***. It's really not your fault, he should have known better too. Live and learn, you know?

You sinner you.

Ah ok, ehough of that. I wrecked this thread didn't I? Sorry. Seriously though. It just kinda gets me when someone new to the boards, has an "opinion" about everything and thinks everyone is all the better for hearing it.

Sorry, powersmx5, but you kinda come across as little too harsh and like we should give a crap about you gracing us with your striking wit. That's his ride; let it be, ok? Inner monolog, man, inner monolog. Here's a tip, no, a lesson in social skills even. I if you don't like it fine, you can say that. Then say something positive that you do like about it. This way you don't come across as douche bag.

For example:

Not my cup of tea, but I do like the underhood shot.
And that's it. Then shut up and be on your way.

Can we play nice now? Hey, other people were negative and being tools as well, but you had big target on you with the Miata thing and the "i'm so smart and witty" thing. So I singled you out. Oopsy, silly me.

Hey, you probably aren't going to stick around anyways, so whatever. Basically, I'm just trying to over my *** with this post, so I don't get any points when mods see this. I'm just playin' around, ok?

/nonsense

Anyways, 520hpsti, nice ride. Should be a lot of fun. My car in high school was a 97 Ford Explorer. WOW HUH?! Yeah, it was ok, I guess. That car was airborn on a daily basis though. Had a hill by my house, that you could get 2 or 3 seconds of air if you went fast enough and that's like forever when you are doing it. Never bottomed out either. Tried it in my moms car once. Bottomed out big time, sparks everywhere.

Moral of the story? Don't jump your sti. In fact, take it easy with that thing, I didn't have the self control at your age to not do bad things with a freakin explorer, let alone a 500+ hp car. Be safe, man.

haha sounds like fun in the explorer

In all seriousness though, thank you for the advice. I know what people think when they see a kid with this type of car, but there are anomalies and some people have to understand that. I have had the car for almost 1.5 years and havent gotten into too much trouble with it, and definetly have not done anything that could kill myself or anything like that. I am excited for the track to open up and just enjoy this car as my daily driver.

Thanks for the compliments.
