Why don't they bring out an AWD Eclipse? Look at the Ralliart Concept!
So we can have the ECLIPSE GSXs and GSTs and the big 3000gts and one limited edition Galant VR4 .............. but we cant have a new elcipse turbo or awd but we can get to lancers turbo awd (evo and ralliart rumored).
I say bring it on, hey twin turbo the V6 jus make that Eclipse into something more.
I see other companies going with more then one sports car and i see nothin wrong with that.

Not a rumor, confirmed
It's also looking like the Ralliart will be a better starting point for people who's intent is it mod the crap out of the car, since the Evo will be gauged towards a higher market than it is currently. Think of the new Ralliart as kinda the RS replacement.
Well, if you have been involved to Mitsubishi like I am (9 Mitsubishi powered turbo cars, 7 of them AWD) you would realize that the one to blame is the market:
Bling bling 24" rims SUVs. Mitsubishi drifted their sales to a more profitable "SUV market". The 2 door coupes (VR4, GSX) were owned by a "minority". It was back in 99 and off course it was the boom of the market, SUVs, stupid mini TV in the rear seats that no one watches, 30 stupid trays so that you can "store" your sunglasses, you lighter, your garage opener, your cell and all that crap.
So that is your answer, I am not trying to be an a$s , I am telling you what the market demand dictated back in 99. Off course.. Mitsubishi couldn't leave themselves behind in their chance to conquest their little SUV segment so they have to ditch out the VR4 and Eclipses GSXs, perhaps the nicest and best looking cars ever made by Mitsubishi along with the Starion(a marvel of the 80's)
The galants and the newer Eclipses are in all honesty a very questionable market demand. The Evo put on the table all the smack: a 4 door roomy and fast as hell, it is sporty and it handles like a $80000 car.
We must say thanks to the Evo for keeping Mitsubishi a float, it is right now the performance replacement of a VR4.
