350Z split in half....
thats the cost you pay when your stupid. You race and dont get caught you see another day. You race and crash and live or get caught you should go to jail.
ITS THE LAW. THATS WHY OUR GOV. MADE THESES LAWS TO MAKE THE OTHERS SAFE.
Ive done my share of raceing but i only do it where there is noone to say anything or damage any property. I dont street race anymore for this reason its not worth anyones life for the rush or a few dollars and if you support this guy your just as dumb as him.
Like i said i hope he goes to jail and not be able to drive for the next 10 years.
Thats why you take it to the track.
i am not saying im on his side... but for him to go to jail over crashing his car and spliting that bish in half? c'mon, now if he would have crashed into some one else, that would be different.
they probably want to find the bmw to prove it was a dragrace, so yeah hopefully he will turn himself in

The BMW driver will probably be charged with his part of this illegal activity and hopefully smacked with some hefty fines for being a general cockslap for leaving them on the side of the road.
Yes, his age is a determining factor. I know when I was younger I used to do stupid stuff all the time.
- Passing 3 or 4 cars in a row on highways while I was doing above 140 MPH.
- Darting in and out of traffic just show off to my passengers.
- Pulled over for street racing (130 in a 35 MPH zone) but LUCKILY got out of it with only a "careless driving" ticket.
Hell, maybe I should have lost my license after that last one. Maybe I would have learned a lot sooner than I did.
Some people simply get tired of it. Some stop because they can't afford to do it anymore. Some people have to learn through mistakes. However, the fact is that no matter what any of us say, no matter how mature any of us act like we are while we're sitting behind the almighty keyboards...We've all street raced at one time or another, to some degree or another.
I definitely don't want to get this thread locked or any posts deleted because of illicit activity, but I think we can all be mature enough to understand that racing is illegal, dangerous, and much better suited at the track.

Age...makes no difference. I've seen guys in their 60's racing thier Vette's.
Sex...makes no difference. I've seen plenty of women street racing or driving like idiots.
Maturity...I bet the VERY FEW members on this board can say they've never speeded on public roads. So who's the hypocrite? ANYONE who speeds is dangerous, no matter how good you think you can drive. It doesn't take your lack of skills to get you or someone else killed, it takes one innocent person who didn't see you in time to make you lose control.

If a cop pulls someone over for simply speeding and finds out they were driving without insurance, should he let that slide because they haven't hit anyone yet?
If a gang banger shoots at someone but misses, should he be alowed to keep his gun priveledges?
That's a really dumb way to think.

also for the "key fact: he was 21" person. no, that isn't the key fact. the key fact is that he was SPEEDING and RACING. thats what caused him to crash, not his age.
life doesn't dictate if you crash by your age, usually the speed factor is what makes a car lose control.
I feel sorry that the person made such a bad decision to race on a residential road. speed limit I'm guessing was around 25? and that BMW should definatly be slapped with leaving the scene. what an *******, to leave the driver of somebody who just crashed.

i still think jail is too much, and im with you ppl learn from their mistakes or get tired lol
It isn't like this guy is going to do 25-L for this.
Actually, now that I think about it, jail time would be the perfect cure for the street racers out there.
Yeah, your night sucked.
- You totaled your 1 week old sports car.
- Your girlfriend is dumping you because she's too traumatized and emotional to ever look at you again in the same way.
- The cops know you were street racing (which means your insurance probably isn't going to cover dick).
- Did I mention you lost the race?
- Oh yeah, and you know your new cellmate, the town drunk? Yeah, he thinks you've got a purty mouth.

and the parents of the gf are pressing charges agains him, cause of the trauma thier princess is in lol
im so sick of people saying that... i know older assh***s that drive worse and feel they have more to prove than some idiot young drivers.
im only 20 and cars/driving have always been a hobbie. its just a bad desicion made by a person... age TRULY has nothing to do with it. most people crashing back home in FL are drunk 35 year olds in lambos and 911's near me. its all about your LEVEL OF MATURITY not your age.
regardless of his stupidity i hope he pulls through and learns a serious lesson..
surprised no one on here mentioned the BMW yet though... i think thats more irresponsible than racing and crashing... leaving 2 people basically to die.
EDIT: sorry im not pissed at you atlvalet i just have come across so many comments like that on here recently... and its getting to me.

Listen, when I was young I didn't want to hear about it either...but, statistically, it was true.
And, anecdotally, most of the high speed crashes I've seen on here (and most, if not all, of the deaths) were with people 25 and younger.
