Anyone Have a 2.5RS?

Ok One of my friends has a Suby 2.5 RS with a Magnaflow exhaust, and its rediculously loud. Like I have heard cars running on open headers that were not as loud. This thing is easily over 205 db. So are all the aftermarket Exhaust This loud for tis car? Can someone recomend a rather quiet exhuast, the stock system is proving hard to locate. ( below 70db)

there is no way it should be that loud unless he is running UEL Headers, Catless, and Catback.. There isn't much he can do to quiet it down

Ray, the Guy that drives The silver M3.

AS far as what he has on the exhaust of the 2.5RS. He has header not sure what company, and the exhaust is a magnaflow, he has a VERY small coverter on the headers. But this thing is louder than my car at full throttle. It rediculously loud. I understand my turbocharger provides muffleing but his car is like stupid loud.

If it's that many, shouldn't his license be suspended by now?

Why dont they swap in the 2.0?

There's more aftermarket support for it.

He wants to swap in the STI 2.5 Turbo, but I think he would go for the 2.0 . but in the past month he has gotten 14 tickes and the cost $96 a pop. We tracked down a 06 WRX OEM exhuast, were gonna see how far off it is today.

With a Flange adjustment and a little extension i was able to mate the O6 WRX exhuast to the 2.5rs Cat pipe. It went on pretty clean, one hanger doesn't meet up but its not important. There are a couple close spots between the Exhaust heat shields and resonators, but over all its a pretty good fit considering that we put a exhuast from a 2006 turbocharged 4 door sedan on a 2000 2 door coupe thats N/A. It sounds realy cool, like its pretty quiet but it doesn't sound like a factory exhaust, has a very deep tone with a boxer rumble. at full throttle its under 50db.

i've got a 2.5rs... magnaflow doesn't make a cat-back for the 2.5rs.. it's gotta be a custom jobber. The if it's rumbly the headers are probably borla.. or ebay replicas. They also make equal length which make it a smoother sound like the evo.

if your goin with the quieter exhaust go with Stromung. try boxer4racing.com

i rock the apex'i N1 with the borla headers with a the random tech high flow cat....

prolly the loudest setup for it.

and yes sti swap in the GC chassis is pwnage... even against the evo...
