Stopped up there just to look at the Sti. I'm a proud owner of my and wouldn't dream of getting rid of the Evo. Just waned to get a close look at it. One, these salesmen at the Subaru in Orland Park on Harlem are fools! They got it marked up to $38k and don't have a clue what they're talking about. I asked them simple questions they couldn't answer. One guy didn't even know it had a turbo!!! Being that the Evo is their direct competiton, I was appauled the Subaru salesman didn't even know his own (enemy) He said to me, "Does the new Evo have AWD???? Wow!!!!!!!! It should be against the law for them to sell the Sti being so studpid!

That's what my Evo salesman said. He had never heard of the Impreza, and vaguely knew what the WRX was.

 

Oh, like there aren't Mitsubishi salesmen who don't know what the Evo is. Cheerleaders crack me up.

 

Most car salespeople should be bagging groceries. They will still ask " what do you mean you want plastic,,,, bags dont come in plastic" ......... Let me ask my manager ..... o ya "paper or plastic".....

 

True, my Evo salesman had no idea what the Evo was either, other than that it was sitting in front of him on the showroom and looked sporty. That's why I ended up doing all my negotiations with the managers/owners of the dealership.

They're just playing you. Testing you to see if you're an idiot, then screw you into getting a new car. I don't know if my Evo is AWD. No it's not, you need an STI! Consumers are generally the dumbest people out there.

 

yeah, dealers suck. I stopped at a local dealer to see the white EVO in person. The sales guy immediatley started ripping on my car. Said he wanted to race me for pink slips...yeah, right. The guy doesn't even know me, my car, and he hasn't even driven the EVO himself!! HAHA!! dumbass. He even asked me as I started leaving..."so, you ready to trade that heap in on a real car yet?" Yeah buddy, that's a great sales tactic...exactly what I was thinking too! jackass. The sales guys have no clue about the EVO, their answer to all your questions is "yhave you seen the video yet?". Yeah the "video" they are talking about is a training video for THEM, not a promotional video for the customer. SLACKERS.

 

Same thing happeded to me when my gf and I went to go buy the Evo. Our sales guy was dumb as ****. He even threw away the key number tag!!

A few weeks later the 04 WRX came out so we stopped by to take a look. The Subby sales guy knew what the Evo was, but told me the WRX's direct competitor was the Evo. I told him he was wrong in front of the sales mgr and schooled him about the Evo and the STi. headbang:

Then the sales mgr tried to tell me I was wrong. So I told them the stats of both cars. When they realized I knew what I was talking about, he asked if I wanted to buy the WRX now.
I said no, then he said we have it in auto if I cant drive stick.

98% of car sales people suck!

 

Of course if you want written proof of dealer stupidity. Look at ebay, carmax, or just regular dealer sites and check out some of the features available on cars.

I personally like the fact mine told me it has a twin turbo. I said no it has one turbo, he swore up and down it has 2 turbos.... he went and got the paper ad and showed me..... I then pointed out it says "twin scroll turbo" ,,,, he was like ya its a twin turbo,,,, I then gave up......poor chap!!!!!!!
