Im talking about the NEW G8 from Holden . US won't get LS2 , but still GT will have 6.0L V8 with 362 hp and 391lb-ft. GS will be in the around 250 or so.. Hopefully GXP will come out soon after with LS3

LS3 with 430 (understated) bhp...FANTASTIC news, considering I'm selling my Evo to buy a 2008 C6 next Christmas.

lol understated is the truth... the engine is fantastic and then they slap on a very primitive exhaust layout which restricts the output, but this exactly the type of situation car modders dream about... when headers will pick up 40whp I love the way a modded lS sounds like its crushing skulls in a vice.. I was thinking that on the way to work today.

That G8 looks hot!

Engine – A new, 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8 is the standard engine in Coupe and Convertible models. It is rated at 430 horsepower (321 kW)* and 424 lb.-ft. of torque (586 Nm)* with the standard exhaust system; with the new, optional two-mode exhaust system, power ratings increase to 436 horses / 325 kW and 428 lb.-ft. / 592 Nm. As a result, the standard Corvette is true supercar, capable of 190 mph.
436hp!

I like this part too:
Steering system – The Corvette’s precise rack-and-pinion steering system is revised to provide improved feel at all speeds. The revisions are due to a new, premium machining process of the system’s internal components, a new, stiffer intermediate shaft and controller calibration changes.
Nothing can touch the Corvette package - $45k, handling, exotic looks, 430-436hp, 28mpg, 3200lbs, huge aftermarket (LSx) etc.....

the optional exhaust will be standard on the z51 package... so with a base corvette + z51 option your getting stickier tires, z06 springs, z06 front sway, thicker rear sway, upgraded cross drilled rotors, upgrade calipers, oil cooler, tranny cooler. upgraded shocks with adjustable ride height, low gearing for performance driving.. also the z51 is the only version of the car that was ever tested for top speed... the standard 05 - 07 c6 will not make it to 186mph.

so with the mild to wild exhaust, they sell a remote control that basically just fits in your cup holder.. you through some headers on there and leave the stock exhaust on. Keeps the car pretty mild and dron free.. then hit the button and it turns into a monster... stock the open under WOT.

who the hell cares about ion knock control? Its all about remote control exhausts!

Any word on how much will the Z51 package costs with the addition of the performance exhaust? My guess would be somewhere around $2,5k

The last z51 package was $2300 I believe.. its not really costing GM a whole heck of alot more since half the items are already used on the z06... basically any evo or car enthusiast shouldnt be looking at a c6 unless it has the z51 setup. Wild guess.. the 08 z51 package wont cost more then 3K.
