Last night i got into a heated arguement with a srt4 owner about who would win from a 40 roll (both stock). I said that there is no way in hell a srt4 would beat an evo viii from a roll from personal experience. And this guy insist that an srt4 would be dominant from a roll, he said that there are plenty of videos that prove it.What do you guys think?

 

i have never lost to an srtslow i mean 4 from any roll or even a standstill. but you got to add in how well a driver is behind the wheel.

 

Ummm... No... They've got 250 ft-lbs of torque, but only 205 hp stock. The Evos put out a bit more than that...

 

personal experience: evo over srt from roll

 

yes but they are lighter they weigh in at about 2900lbs... which is considerably lighter than an evo

 

400 at the most there lighter. not enough. imho you need to be a real bad driver to get beat by a srtslow.

 

i never had a stock evo so idk...2 hours after i bought my evo i put K&N drop in filter and a TB exhaust...

well not to say the SRT would win...but 400lbs is a whole lot of weight. have 2 more 200lbs guys sit in your car and go to the drag strip

 

i have a few big firends. yes it holds you back but not enough. i have a 180+lbs friend and my g/f at maby 120lbs and still left a few srt-4s behind. and myself at 165 175

 

Actually they have 235HP stock and most put that too the wheels in stock form. Evo should still win but not by a whole lot depending on drivers.

 

well that is only 300 lbs...are you sure you run a 12.1 and those listed in your sig are you only mods? you must have a special edition evo that just makes more power...

 

yes i did run 12.1... no thoughs are not my full mods. its clear i have mods. come on now. unless you know where i can get defi's that get me to run 12s. maby i got the 1st set. i here the order you put them in one the a pillar is a big deal. i must have them just right.

100 200 300 400 500 550 i bet will still beat a srt4. there fast but not that fast. its funny how this is the 954 thread about this. why do you people fear a stock neon??? i dont get it. its like me wondering if ill beat my dad in the 1991 dodge dynasty. its got a 3.3l v6 and power windows. lions tigers and neons o my.

 

WHOA WHOA WHOA i never said i fear them...i just said they were lighter and that helps them out since they are lower HP...

i was bieng facetious in saying your sig listed all your mods...i know how fast evos run...i also know that there are some serious SRT-4's in San Diego that would eat my Evo alive...somewhere in the world of 450 to 500whp i know of 2 specifically.

and yes it is not hard to beat a "stock SRT-4" especially when you are running 12.1

 

I think the big "Fear" comes form the fact that they all wanna go from a roll, "on a closed course without a doubt". From a dig they are nothing that my truck cant smoke, but from a roll with a few mods can be a little bit frisky. Especially my buddies with a 50 trim on it, its a hand full.


(but might i add that even with a 50 trim the car is still useless, by the time they catch traction which seems like never the other person has already checked out and hit the brakes. With a big turbo the cars can pull hard on a highway pull but the fun aspect of driving that alot of evo owners go for it nearly never attainable with a srt.)
