which car would u get
I dont know about you guys but why would you get a turbocharge car that looks ugly and so hard to find upgrade parts if you can get a nicer body like the mazdaspeed protege. Just my thought. I could gotten the mazdaspeed protege if the evo didnt arrived in u.s.
Performance-wise, SRT-4 probably hands asses to other under $20K. But style-wise, it looks like a buzzy insect to me.
You gotta think which aspects of a car are most important to you. Things like stock performance, modability, warranty, insurance, style, comfy everyday ride. Most people need more than HP and torque numbers to decide a car.
And don't forget you can find older, much nicer used cars for the same price. I'm lookin at a 1990 RX7 for about 5k. Only thing is it's NT I think, but I still love FCs.

Strictly between the Jetta and Neon, I'd go with the Jetta. It may not be as fast, but it's more comfortable, doesn't look like a bargain-basement Neon, and won't start rattling apart in a year. You can always chip the 1.8T engine to give it a little more pep -- granted, nowhere near as fast as the SRT-4, but going fast isn't the only thing that matters.
In the end, it all comes down to what's important to the driver.

i dunno but im not paying for the car...my parents are and they already told me that i cant get used cars coz jus coz they had bad exprience with them in the past so i am stuck wit a new car jus like my first car and only will only have a 20k budget wit it... oh btw im keeping my lancer also...
OK... well try listing your priorities out. You don't even have to do it in this thread. And then see what the closest car is to what you want. If you want style over performance, then look at cars you like lookin at. If you want performance with low insurance cost, look for an econobox with decent aftermarket support. None of us can tell you what the best car is, we basically can only offer suggestions.
SRT-4 hands down. Even though it is ****ING UGLY, and cheap, and American (This is a bad thing when we are talking automobiles, not pickups, because we own the world, but cars, we are sorry).
SRT4 BLOWS THE DOORS OFF OF IT'S COMPETITION. TOTALLY the fastest car ever under 20K (Inflation adjusted of course!_)

i'd get a myself a used civic, coupe or 4 door, doesnt matter, as long as it cost me 10'000, stick of course, then, power it up and lower it, nice set of wheels, audios.....10'000, voila, sums up 20'000...ehhehehe
Well, if you just wanna see what I'd do, I'd get a used performance car and put it to my image. I mentioned before, but the two cars I'm really lookin at are a Nissan 240SX or a Mazda RX7. I also wouldn't mind a 1g DSM or a Supra MKIII. I kinda like that late-80s/early90s performance look I guess.
You are forgetting something here
Before you do anything, You need to add another car to your list. Subaru places are getting rid of their '03 WRX's for $5K under MSRP here, which puts them right at $20K out the door. With some crafty bargaining, you could have a car that is better (in my opinion) than either the SRT-4 (FWD, no LSD, wheel hop) or the VW (1.8T, moddable but holy hell it's pricey to do so, and also FWD). There is aftermarket support galore for the WRX too.
-Just my $0.02

well if i can get the wrx for 20k and if they also have a 0% apr for 60 month i would probably choose that...thanks for the info ill probably look into that...ill jus swing by the dealers to see wats up...o yea i would love to get a used car to fix up...was looking into the first gen eclipse but too bad i cant get it

These are either under 20 grand or just a little shy from 20 grand, typically $2,000-$3,000 more than $20,000.
Hyundai Tiburon
Volkswagon GTI (1.8T, 20th Anniversary, or VR6)
Celica GT-S
Eclipse GT
Mazda 6
or a Mazdaspeed Protege if you want some boom with your vroom (although I heard a car coming out soon will be replacing this soon, not sure which one though)
Or you could just try to find the WRX for $20,000.
I certainly hope this helped! Good luck on your new ride!

Of that list, I'd stay away from the Tiburon V6 only because eveything else on the list outclasses it. I've also heard from a small number of people that the tranny on the V6 is a little iffy.
