My 1990 Eclipse GSX -- What's it worth?
Gentlemen:
What do you think my 1990 Eclipse GSX is worth?
I'm debating selling it sometime next year or putting it into semi-permanent storage. I'm the original owner and it's been my daily driver for seventeen years now. I really love this car. I've always had great plans for it, too. However, I don't anticipate becoming rich enough to realize any of them in the near future.
This car is unmolested and in very clean condition. I honestly haven't seen another 1g in better shape. Just recently I installed new front brake rotors and pads and had the rear spoiler trim repainted. This car has no drivability issues.
Here are the minimal mods:
- K&N air intake
- Mitsubishi 2g ceramic-coated exhaust manifold
- Mitsubishi no-tick lifters
- Rev dual-coil valve springs
- Rev titanium retainers
- Thermal R&D 3" turbo-back exhaust
- Custom 6-gauge array with VDO gauges
- Momo Millennium steering wheel
- Sparco Monza seats with matching interior
- Sony Mobile ES CDX-C90 headunit
- Sony Mobile ES XDP-4000X digital pre-amp
- Sony XA-300 auxilliary input adapter
- MB-Quart Premium 3-way component speakers
- MTX Audio Thunder6304 4-channel amplifier
- MTX Audio Thunder6500D mono-block amplifier
- TREO SS 12" subwoofer
- Konig Holes rims (17x7")
- Pirelli P-7000 Supersport tires (225/40R17)

wow. mega clean.. I dunno worth but I would say.... premium worth plus a bit for mods and pure cleanliness, looks like its just off the show room. Thats crazy that your the original owner. very rare.
wow, dude. super clean. is the paint origional? as far as worth goes kelly blue book it, add what you got in mods and add another 5-10k for the cleanness. should be a pretty accurate price. of course something is only worth what someone will pay for it. id prolly offer you 12k.
Wow, that's beautiful. If I had the cash I'd buy it from you right now. KBB says it's worth $2,600, but I think you can get quite a bit more for that, since people are always looking for clean, well kept DSMs.

Wow, nice. You didn't mention the miles. Has the car ever been over-boosted (aka had an mbc on it)?
Hard to guess the miles of being DD for 17 years, but I would guess @ 120k - $4,500; 150k - $4,200. The right buyer will pay a premium for sure.
I've got a 94 TSi that has NEVER been moded. It's got less than 90k and is my current DD. She hasn't let me down. I'd be disappointed to get anything less than 4 for it. The more stock, the more they're worth.

The paint is not all original. Although I have done my utmost to keep it looking like new, it is a daily driver, so it's not showroom perfect. Mitsubishi paint jobs aren't that good.
Also, the car has been in a few minor fender benders over the years, which I've had professionally repaired. There never was any structural damage. I should also mention that I still need to get the A/C converted.

This is one of the most beautiful 1G's I think I have ever seen. 90 is a hard year to sell in the DSM world because of all the wierd parts that changed in 91 and stayed consistant until it's removal from the market in 99. If I were you I would just hold onto the car. I mean for the money you will get for it, you will always wish you had it back. This car is in great shape, something hard to come by especially since young kids are buying them up just to rice them out and eventually crashing it. I would keep it and just enjoy it for the years to come. Once a while bust it out for a cruz and rememebr the years you spent with it. If you where to sell this gem I would not let it go for any less than 3K, but would push for around 4K+ and it is even lighty and tastfully modded. Nice ride!!

Right on, the Ralliart sticker is long gone, and the stock 16" rims I sold over a decade ago. They looked like they were out of a bad 80's sci-fi movie anyhow. I had 2g GSX rims as well, but they were heavy and soft. The Konigs are cheap, light, and expendable.
