Aston Martin tires?

Hey all, my brother has an early 80's AM Volante, and we can not find decent tires for it. Stock is 255/60/15, but anything with similar diameter should work. 8" wide rims. Also, the car is a pig, so he needs tires with a high load rating. I think he is looking for something to sort out the handling a bit, but nothing too extreme because he pretty much babies the car (otherwise parts fall off). He also wants something with a decent looking tread pattern. He likes the BBS rims it has, so he is stuck with the 15 inchers. The original tires (which are cracked, necessitating replacement) are Pirelli P7's (think, maybe P6?)

Any advice is appreciated =)

On a side not, 3mpg and parts falling off... I will stick with mah Evo

Holy hell those tires gotta have some fat sidewalls on them. Sounds like SUV tires You're not going to find any decent performing tire in that size, so I think your best bet might be to change to a bigger wheel, then your tire options will open up.

For example, switch to 18x8 wheels, with a 255/45 tire, and suddenly you have tons upon tons of tire options. Or even a 255/50 tire on 17" rims, which tend to cost a bit less.

Cooper, BFG, TBC (think GrandAm, GrandPrix, etc.) all have 255-60-15 tires that are readily available.

Drag radials

hmmm drag radials...

Thanks for the advice. My bro just refuses to change the rims, and the tires we found in the right size are all low performance, even for SUV tires.

I need to find him some good tires so we can go cruisin'.

I see play-pimpin in the club...

"Yeah baby I got the Aston Martin outside, you seen James Bond?"

The girl gets all drunk in the club and says let's go to her place and she walks outside and sees an OLD Aston that's rusted and falling apart and no tires that match and she feels duped
