I didn't realize they are so cheap now. I just looked on eBay. I want one!! I don't trust the reliability of a VW though, especially with all those electronics.

There rock solid.... i wouldn't give it up for anything except maybe a W12 version...... plus i love the fact that ALL lexus, BMW, MB,and some A8 drivers stare and look like they are dumbstruck that a VW could be nicer than their cars.

The Phaeton was a total flop, but they are good cars and are really a steal used. Maintenance might be a bit spendy, though.

Definitely get a Honda Accord. I loved my old DD accord. It was comfortable, good on gas, and low profile so hardly any harassment from cops.

I had a W8 Passat and it was in the shop quite often.

As for the VQ, I don't think the Altima 2.5 takes premium, at least they didn't with the 2006 model my old wapce got. And according to KBB, they get low to mid 30's mpg highway.

if you do some research, you can find a 3 series for around 15 (01 models are around 10-12). Don't go with the Rav 4. my mom was a prospect buyer of one once. It's a pretty flimsy vehicle, practically dents with the push of a thumb. The dealer actually warned her about it's safety too.

The 2.5 isn't a VQ.

The Altima 2.5 would be a fair choice, but they are technically Nissan's "economy" sedan.

I dont know what kind of A8 drivers you know, but none that i know would look up at a phaeton after driving the A8. and the phaeton is definetly not nicer than an A8

I fail at engines today....I knew that. I should have been more clear that I was referring to the 2.5. I'm looking at the new Altima and new Lancer GTS as my next car.

the phaeton is nicer on the outside, but the A8 screws it over on the interior layout and executive-ness....but i thunk most A8 drivers look cuz it looks almost exactly like their car with a VW badge, and their like WTF i just paid 100k for my car and theres a VW that looks exactly like it

it is, but the plus side to it is you only have to change the oil every 10,000 miles
