Hey everyone,

My friend has a 97 Eclipse GST (automatic). Last night she hit a big puddle, luckily not hydroplaning out of control. Anyways, her car won't go above 20mph now. It just seems like it wont shift up. Anyone know what could cause this?

Last time I hit a big puddle in my gsx it wouldn't go very fast afterwards due to me being an idiot leaving my spark plug cover off and the water splashing so far up as to FILL the spark plug wells. I had to soak up as much as I could with a towel then get home slowly to air dry the rest.

If you're sure it's the transmission I'm not sure what the problem might be I never had any issues with my automatic 95 talon awd like that.
