Evo to Z06
Sweet ride, same upgrade but I actually had a BMW 335i in between the Evo and the Z06. What package did you get? 1LZ, 2LZ,3LZ.
Someone in a local area is selling a black Z06, black interior, black rims for $53k, it is a 06.
Anyway, congrtas and please do the rear mufler buterflies mod, it only takes 10 seconds and it yields a lot of HP and torque.

Soon as I got it home from the dealer, I yanked out the exhaust fuse.
LOL, that is funny!! it is amaizing what that fuse can unleash uh? it takes no tools and it takes 5 sec to do it..
Yeah, I have the 2lz package plus nav and I like it. Car came with chrome rims but I exchanged them at the dealer for a $1995 credit discount.
I am definately leaving the stock cat back, it is very quiet with the flapers closed but defintely loud when the flapers are open. Look for a remote control in the market called from mild to wild, it takes 1 minute to install and you can open and close the flapers remotely..
If you want a very light cat back the Bassani cat back makes 17.4whp/12.9lb-tq alone, it removes about 20lbs of weight.

I've been lurking corvetteforum.com for about a year or so, so I'm pretty familiar with the various little mods. I'd really like to get that Window Valet mod because I hate having to open my door before closing the hatch. Instead, I can just have the windows roll down while I'm walking to the car. There's also been battery drain issue with that supposedly though.
Thanks for the link to the exhaust, those are really good gains for a catback.. normaly the other cat backs don't see worthwhile gains. For a while I was looking at the Corsa exhaust, the sound clip on their website sounds so sick, especially with a cam.
First mods are probably going to be a MGW short shifter and a new gas pedal that's more heel-toe friendly. It bothers the hell outta me not being able to heel-toe downshift, one time my foot slipped off the brake trying to extend my foot to reach the gas pedal.. no bueno.

How do you like the LGs and the KB intake?

Oh yeah, I hate the fact that you can't enter new destinations while you're moving. I know it's a potential safety issue and all, but if you have a passenger with you, it'd be nice if they could operate it.
Jonh,
In reference to your post #22, the Killer Bee was unanimously choosen the best air intake by most of all the Z06 owners.
The K&N was also good but it had extructural failure, it was proven that a 7011cc displacement engine sucking air though a 90mm Throtle body was enough flow to actually bend the air filter inwards. K&N stopped production of this filter and they have been working in a new design which includes carbon fiber which reinforces the entire filter, it will also save one more pound of weight.
The headers that I chose were the LG Pro(not the street series), additionally with 3" HFC. These HFC have such large cells that they are almost half of the size of a regular pencil in diameter, they are 100 cels cats. Also, LGmotorsport is the company that provided the headers to the winning champion C6-R.
As per exhaust, I wouldn't go with the Corsas, when compare to the Bassani, the Corsa don't make as much power, plus you are all about the sound, the Bassani are the loudest by design..
and last but not least, answering your question, the header, flapper mod and air filter without tune yielded 33whp from iddle to 3500rpm then almost 18whp and 22lb-tq until redline(shirnks down to 14whp at the engine peak power).
I am waiting on whtevo05(Frank) to elaborate more and give his priceless opinion.
Godd luck! enjoy the beast..

The original K&Ns had that problem but it's been since resolved. Katech actually recommends the new K&N intake over the KB because they now offer the same performance but the K&N is cheaper.
I really like LG, watched them race their World Challenge C6-R last year in Long Beach and then watched them @ ALMS in Long Beach this year. Good stuff.
Out of all the exhausts I've heard, Corsa is by far the best sounding to me. I'm willing to give up a few horsepower over the Bassani because of the sound alone. I just don't want loud, I want a clean sound.. otherwise I'd go with a electronic cut out or something. Been looking for a sound clip of the Bassanis, but I can't seem to find one, the only one I can find is for the C6. If you happen to come across a link to one, lemme know.

Congracts on the Z06....you picked the best color just like mine but it will become your new part time job I hope you know that
Corsa is the only aftermarket exhaust that will not produce drone. It is also the lightest and if you like the sound then it is a win win.
I'd say the best mods you could do for starters is a dyno tune performed by a quality shop that uses HP tuners and an Intake...KB or K&N they are both good. You will get at least 35+ more HP to the wheels. You will feel the increased power and I'm sure it will bring a big smile to your face as it has to anyone I know that has a tuned Z06. The car will breathe much better also and therefore get inproved MPG. Again a win win. The only negitive is your rear tires will wear out much faster!
There are lots of mods you can do as I'm sure you know and that is all dependant on what you intend to use the car for.
I'm running KB, ported TB, and Intake manifold, 160 stat and of course the HP dyno tune. 495 rwhp. Next week the car goes in for a Q600 cam and American Racing Headers, C5 Z06 half shafts and maybe I may have them mill the heads. Should take me to about 580-600 rwhp.
BTW Katech is the best and in fact I was invited to go to their track attack this past weekend but I couldn't make it due to a business situation. I missed a great time for sure.
My Z is one of the only cars I've owned that I can say keeps growing on me more and more everytime I drive it and that is the sign of a good car IMO.
Best of luck with the new car.
^^ Frank, I haven't pulled the trigger on the cams yet, I am in the process of managing my current power which is already challenging for such light weight car with such power to weight ratio.
It sounds spectacular to say that you will make 580-600whp with such simple mods yet so true... I made a promise to myself to keep this car at least 4-5 years, I have no regrets about it and I often ask myself: what else could you get that could realisticly kick this car a$$? The answer is simple, not many cars out there unless you spend a lot of money.
Jonh, I recommend doing the 160-170 thermostat as well, I did mine, it is cheap as hell, take no time to do and all you need is to reprogram the fans during the tuning.
