Which would you own?
not to mention the GTR has creature comforts unlike our evos which the interiors look superglued together. the GTR is now considered an "exotic" but since only 1500 cars will come to US , expect to pay a premium. the rumors are $25-70k over MSRP. MSRP is $69,850. a stock 911Turbo is $140k which the GTR was built to beat.

My vote would go for the GTR only if you could getit for MSRP and not a dime over. Secondly either keep the Evo 9 or get the M-3 (The best value I think), last by far would be getting the R-34, no point to pay a huge amount of money for such underachiever.
I would add a used 06 C6 Z06 to the list(505hp for low 50's)

my vote if u can't get a GTR would be the 08 Viper. fastest 200mph car under $100k. $86k out the door get you 560ftlbs of torque. if u wanna go fast, go ahead & call Heffner for that twin GT35R kit for the elusive 1900hp/1900TQ...
^^ With the permision of the ZR1 and the discretion of the Z06. The viper is great, but the are two factors left in the air that makes the Z06 a direct competitor, price and power/weight ratio and that is why you can not rule out the Z06.
A lotus elise will always be nimble, its weight alows it to compite with cars that have twice the power like a Pontiac GT0, that is why I put emphasis on the Z06, it can compite against more powerfull cars like the Ford GT,lambos, porsche turbos,vipers..you name it.
APS and SQS and also makes twinturbo for the Z06, further more callaway or lingenfelter makes their own turbo monsters of the Z06. Head to head the Z06 is toe to toe with the Viper, maybe the z06 is marginally behind than the viper in a couple of aspects.
Having dealers in the country that will sell you 08 Z06 for $65000 brand new I think it will be absurd(to say the least) not to consider buying one. If fits the bill and it does the job..
Gas mileage and comfort have been a downside on the Vipers as well when compared to the competition..My .2c

Hey sorry for the late response. As for a C6 Z06, Those are extremely nice, but someone said its for old men, and they pretty much hit the nail on the head lol. I mean dont get me wrong I would like to own one, but I'm not sure if ill enjoy it as much as a tuner car.
So it looks like people are saying I wont be able to get a new GTR till 09. Thats kind of when I was thinking of getting one (give or take availability) but damn does seem like they are making some crazy power with minimal mods.
Seems not alot of people like the new M3? Im surprised!

this is simple question......U either get the new GTR, which is in a class of its own and a is a dream car for most car fanatics. Or the cheaper option, which would be to keep ur EVO, which would probably beat a GTR
The evolution is a somewhat rare car in that you don't see one every day. Driving down the road, my Evo gets a lot of looks, thumbs up, and decent respect. However... the GTR is the kind of car I dream of driving even as I drive my dream car.
The GTR is in an entire league of its own when it comes to rarity and making an impression on those who see it and it demands much awe and respect. In addition to being a very fast car that handles great (from what I hear) it's pretty much the holy grail of jaw droppers in my opinion.
Anyone who sees it, and has any idea of what it is, will not be able to help staring and drooling. Myself included. If a GTR pulled up next to me in my Evo it would make me feel like I was driving a Hyundai. That's how awesome it is.
The Z06 is a great car too and I would love to have one but it doesn't impress me the way the GTR does -- and when it comes to buying a car you really want.. you have to find something that really gets you excited and something that you KNOW you want. This will sound funny but buying the right car is like falling in love. When you find the right one, you won't need to ask anyone's opinion - you'll know it's the one for you.

I think it all depends on what you want in a car. The GT-R is ridiculously fast, but the only people who are going to be impressed by it are car enthusiasts. Maybe you don't care about that, but some people find it a tough pill to swallow spending $70-100k and having your car mistaken as an altima with a body kit when your out on the town.
The BMW obviously doesn't suffer from that, despite being slower. And I also think that with the manual trans, RWD, and that awesome 4L engine, the BMW will be a little more involving to drive.
That being said, the GT-R is an automotive masterwork. Easily the fastest car of the group.
