Red face Fiance just bought a 2003 Civic EX

Hey guys, don't flame here, but my girlfriend needed a new car because her motor died in her Chevy Lumina which had 47k miles btw, a little bit ridiculous. She looked at Cavaliers, Mercedes(as her father works for a Mercedes Benz chain(Ray Catena)). She wound up purchasing a 2003 Civic EX 2 door last night. Are these good economical cars. I remember Honda's can last a very long time and are reliable. But I haven't heard anything about the newer model hondas. Are these good cars for just an every day banger? Please refrain from saying Honda's suck or whatnot, I want to stay on topic on the quality of their cars, especially the 02/03 EX models.

Civic's has been and always will be one of the top economy cars, refined and reliable. For everyday driving purposes, it will out-last any Mitsu by 50K miles, and it's very low maintainence.

Hondas are great cars. Their cars are very reliable. The new ones seem to have lost something the older ones had. I don't like the styling of the new one but my first car was a Civic and I never had any problem just wanted more power.

Honda has the word "reliable" all ofver it

My cousins crx has 200,000 miles on it, and the engine is still runnin strong. Im pretty sure the new hondas are reliable.

I've owned 2 hondas... a 2001 civic ex and a 2001 prelude sh.. Both I drove to all hell, but never ever had a problem with them at all. Was even slack with the oil changes and they still ran strong. Great engines.

I used to have 2 1st Gen Acura Integra (different time) and a Honda Prelude. They're super reliable, even after a couple crashes....

The new Civic should suit the propose of being a daily driver.

I had a 1992 Accord, a 1994 Accord, and my mother has a 1993 Civic 4 Dr. These cars last forever. Only had one problem with the 1994 Accord (had to buy a new Radiator). Other than that, no probs whatsoever.
