2009 Ford Focus RS (Europe Only)

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/06/12/i...or-europe-yes/

What looks like a decent sport compact from Ford is slated for Europeans only at this point, however, Ford would be smart to strongly consider this for the U.S. market too.

  • 280hp/295tq turbocharged 2.5 liter Duratec
  • FWD only to save weight
  • Electronically controlled LSD

Here's an actual mule testing on the Nurburgring:

I would rock that, no doubt! Wish they would make it awd and could be a sleeper like the old cosworth escorts, minus the hatch wing.

It would out-perform the Mustang, and god forbid that ever happens

RS update

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9081208....nholm-in-wales

300HP/324LB-FT TQ (440Nm) We need to get this here in the US. It would be a great competitor in the Hot Hatch market.

Ford Company are a bunch of idiots. Bring the RS to the states. Heck, look what happened when they brought the original ZX3 here -- sold like hot cakes.

I would 100% rock a RS.

Sincerely,

One ex-Foci enthusiast. Focus was replaced by the need for more speed. But I miss that car a ton. Great car to own and have fun in. Not to mention - it wasn't an arm/leg to fix.

Nice car! I love my svt. It can't touch my evo in the straights, but it'll go round the corners just as fast. This car looks fun!

I agree they are not smart. This car can help them get some of their reputation back from tuners. The only real performance car they have now is the GT500/KR and that is considered a Shelby by enthusiast not a Ford.

Inside and out the car looks great. And for that price range its a great deal. i don't see what Ford has to lose.
