Since I sold my Evo.......
Since I sold my Evo.......
..... I've picked up a new project and it's finally coming together rather nicely so I thought I'd share it with you all.
It's a 2007 VW GTI with a 2.0T FSI engine and 6-speed manual. It's a base model with virtually no options except an iPod adapter/dock.
My current mod list is as follows:
- Revo Technik Stage 1 ECU Software
- Forge Motorsport Cold Air Intake
- Forge Motorsport Upgraded Bypass Valve
- Forge Motorsport Short Shift Linkage (40% reduction)
- Custom PCV Bypass
- Prototype BC Racing Coilovers
- Stern Rear Subframe Brace
- Debadged Front Grill and Rear Hatch
- European Rear Foglight
- Smoked Mirror Lights
- Color-matched Side Markers
- Flat Black Front Grill Shield
The day I picked it up:

Lowered about 2 inches on BC coils:

Driving to an event in Georgia:

Test fit of my new wheels:

Disassembly of said wheels for refurbishing:

Reassembly of newly refurbished wheels. Powdercoated centers, polished lips, etc:

New wheels finally mounted:

For anyone who is curious, the wheels are an original JDM Work VS series wheel made in 1995. They are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear, both with a 45 offset. Tires are 215/40 all around. The bolt pattern on the wheels is 5x114.3 and the car is 5x112, but the new thing is to use eccentric seat bolts to mount up wheels with bolt patterns that are within 2.4mm of the wheel hub. So long as there is some play within the bolt holes. They work like a charm and are TUV approved. http://raderwerks.com/parts_details.cfm?type=9

Crusing to our dyno day this past Saturday:

My car put down the following with just an intake, valve, and Stage 1 programming. (rated at 200 and 207 at the crank stock). A full turbo-back exhaust, an intercooler, and some more aggressive tuning are to come.

Thanks for looking.

I sat in one few weeks ago, interior is really nice. But front wheel drive can't transfer all the torque to the ground, therefore the car just doesn't pull as hard as it should.
