Thank you thank you.
I've posted on cherokeesrt8 and ask for their inputs already.
is the 08 model year really like what you said, only have problem with the MyGig system, I can careless about that. what i'm worry about is the Tranny and other mechanical problems...

heres the breakdown...
the 06's were riddled with issues (window issues, tranny problems, rattles and creeks on the interior and so on). as far as the 07's go, it looks like a lot of the issues were figured out in the later production runs. then we come to the 08's where the most common problems i've seen so far is with the MyGig system doing weird things.

i say go test drive one and see what you think. i've driven all the model years and so far i'm set on an 08. there are some deals to be had out there, mostly private sales, or at a dealer if you're willing to travel.

good luck, pop into cherokeesrt8 and say hi, search around, read up and ask questions.
edit, i've tested drive the car before and know how well it performances.

so far yes, thats the biggest complaint, which is an easy software flash fix from the dealer. again, with the 08s its just minor annoyances from what i've heard. guess i'll find out in a few weeks. LOL

NOW...if you plan on modding it, well then thats a different story. people were having problems with the tranny/TC when doing basic mods (intake, exhaust, thermostat, B&G tune AND diablo predator). thats going to happen when you mod any car and don't do it correctly.

lol how can u say a gcsrt8 would not make u miss an evo. u must not have gone too far with your evo. dont get me wrong im a fan of the srt8, hennesy makes turbo kits for the beast, but its not a evo substitute. i just dont see how it would be a practical daily driver. think the trailblazer ss would be slightly more practical, and a better truck to tow things with. but as others have said, and from what my friend who was also looking at one but decided to go with the range rover supercharged instead is that the 08s are the way to go. best of luck with your decision. and hope your pockets are big enough to afford the gas.

Evo_SpeedKing, i saw you posted on the other one.. hehe

wasFWDnowAWD, I live not far from rockford, i would really like to know what your car can do.... stock GCSRT8's performance is already very impressive, look up, shouldn't dispointed you that much... (you have a 10's evo or something?) trailblazer ss is a very good truck, it is more practical than GC, but, i don't like how it looks. range rover supercharged is around $70k my friend... maybe sometime in the future, not now. also, if you read above, it seems like that the company is gonna help, and compare to $70k ranger rover, I think if i save that $25k~30k and put it in gas, I should go pretty far in GCSRT8. hehe thanks for the input
Evo_SpeedKing, def keep me posted !! hehe

hell my car is near factory spec. but i know i wont be selling it anytime soon, most likely a lifer. like i said im a fan of the srt8. in a strait, they can hold ground vs. evo, but round a turn, you cant beat the fun factor. you could prolly find a used range for alot cheaper than 70k. yea the SS doesnt look as sweet as the srt8, and prolly doesnt handle as well. IDK. just dont buy the red or black.

after reading more posts on cherokeesrt8, it seems to me that even the 08 SRT8's have a lot build and quality issues...

holy crap...do you own stock in Exxon Mobil or perhaps Royal Dutch Shell? I'd never buy a pig like that with gas prices these days.

my roommate has a 06 infiniti fx35, and i drove it couple of times. nothing compared to srt-8 when it comes to comfort or gas mileage. Fun to drive? YES!!!!!
Its basically a infiniti g35 with bigger body. LOL SRT8? my friend has one, i had one, and its thats why its gone.

Since the JGC SRT8 seems to be out of the question.. what are you looking for in a SUV? Speed, performance, towing, off-roading.... hauling around a bunch of people? My friends selling his 08 MDX if you're interested lol.
