New Camaro RS

Did anybody see the unveiling of the camaro, it was an RS v6. They said the base engine has 304hp w/ 274tq, and starts at 22k. You also have the option of 6spd auto or 6 speed manual which includes an LSD (no LSD on the auto). Not to mention it looks beautiful and w/ the rs option you get hid's and 20's. That's a nice amount of car for considerably less than a rallyart. The wifey already said no for me (2 small kids), and I always said I'd never drive a v6 camaro or mustang, but it seems like killer package...... Thoughts?

Ps that hp output would put it above the v8 mustang gt.

I'm not sure how this is even something that requies any thought what so ever. Buy the Camaro. Done. If you lived somewhere that required awd, then you might have an argument.

I think the new Camaro is a great looking car, but considering the cost of gas, the big engine gas guzzer is probably not going to sell well to the average car buyer. Even the immensely popular Mustang sales are down. If gas prices stay where they are, the high performance car market days are numbered. Just like in the early 70's.

Wow I'm sure the curb weight will kill it's performance.

The ralliart is no light weight, it weighs over 3500lbs (per edmunds) and it will cost at least 5,000 more (than the V6)

I think the Camaros will sell very very well. It does not matter if the people get the v6 or v8, the thing is that the camaro has like a few hundred thousand of people with cash in hand waiting to buy.. I predict it will be a best seller for a few months specially if you consider the last camaro was droped a few years ago..

There is also talks of offering the 4 cylinder turbo out of the HHR as an engine option.

A 4 cylinder in a Camaro? I bet the hardcore Chevy guys love that!

I don't think a Z28 will get the ZR1 motor. The motor costs more than a Camaro!
