New Daily Driver Arrived. MCS

Our new Mini Cooper S finally arrived after a two month order. Couldn't justify the 15 mpg SS as a daily and needed something we can abuse mileage wise. The Mini is awesome to drive and has some potential as its a turbo engine now from Peugoet. I bought the lowering springs and wheels for it. I haven't had a chance to lower it yet, but the wheels look great. I promised myself I wouldn't mod it, but the madness has already started as I weighed the wheels when I swapped for the other ones. 3 pounds per corner shed already LOL... Here are some pics I thought I'd share. Just wanted to post it up in case someone was thinking about one for a daily driver. Gas mileage is ridiculous at about 34 highway/28 city and it feels and drives just like a 100k Mercedes.

One of my friends has an 04' Cooper S, and that thing is fun to drive. It's like a little go cart that gets almost 30 mpg. I haven't had a chance to drive the new turbo ones though. I hear they are just as fun as the older ones, but have a bit more power, and more potential with the motor.

Very nice indeed. I get to drive my friends Cooper S(S/C) and it was a blast specially with the KW v3s on it. Why auto though? Check out the milltek DP, it releases tons of power.

Congrats!

Thanks everyone. We chose auto because its our daily. I drive an average of about 3-4k miles a month. Traffic is horrible and I could care less about shifting. Its also so the wife feels more comfortable in traffic when she drives. She has driven everyone one of my 5 speed cars and is very capable, but just doesn't prefer it. So we went auto. It is tiptronic, but I don't use that either D and go I am looking at all the performance parts available. Alta has some nice stuff too. But with the RS project going I am being cautious on the funds right now. The evo has priority right now....

I test drove the non-S and felt totally underwhelmed. Small, cramped, weird ergonomics, buttons and switches that look like you built the thing in your garage. And it was gutless!

Glad you like it, but as much as I really *wanted* to like it, there is no way I could have one of them every day. Getting back into the Evo was like that pair of shoes you love.

There is no comparison between non-s and s performance wise. You couldn't pay me to drive a non S As for size, true but its all about the almighty dollar and the failing economy When I want to go fast I drive the RS, when I want space I drive the Trailblazer SS, when I want to save money which is everyday-I drive the mini
