i've done a very bad thing....

Guys, you might have lost me forever....

Sunday I picked up an 06 Sti I bought off a kid. I had sold my last MR and was looking for a change of pace, and omg did I get one...

Maybe its just the new car euphoria still in me, but so far I have to say I like the STI better than the EVO MR. Just as fast, sounds 1000 times better, possibly looks better, has much nicer options (CRUISE!?!?) and handles and goes just as good...

I don't know boys... someday I might be back but for now i'm all subie..

here is a link to some pics... i'll post more tonight

The new STI's are nice. The first thing I would do is put the JDM red tails on. Makes the car look 400x cleaner.

Good luck on the "other side"! I know how you feel. Had a white, then a blue STi (shhhh!) before I switched over to and kinda missing the big @ss hood scoop and the boxer rumble. Cat-less + Blitz NurSpecR FTW!

The only thing that I like more about STi over evos is the sound. That rumble is better than sex.

I do love the sound of a boxer. I considered selling the Evo for an STi as I don't do track day's and just the occasional mtn run, so the extra creature comforts of the STi appealed to me, but then I saw how hard it was to make power with the STi's and that was the killer for me. To be fair I'd love to have the STi as a DD and start doing track days with the Evo.

I liked the shifter in the sti better, but bushings and a short shifter help the evo a lot. I installed an aftermarket cruise. The sti is not close the the initial turn in feel of an evo. I cannot abide understeer and the sti had some. Still 2.5 liters is nice. Have fun.
