Put simply, it's one of only 6 made, it's handmade, and it's the prototype race car that ultimately turned into the GTO. Fastest car of its time.

From what I've been reading, the other 5 are MIA, so this is really the last one known to exist. If it still had the orignal engine/trans with it, it probably could've gone for nearly $500,000, simply because it could've been restored to 100% original.

IMO, the thing's in fantastic shape for having just sat there for 40 years, especially the interior. Almost no penetrating rust.

Ah okay thanks for the heads up. It has history and potential then. For that $$ I would say I might have to take an R8 or GT2 or something. Not as rare but thats alot of coin for an old car.

That is a pretty incredible find........That car looks no different than a $2,000 tempest.

What if it god sold as that?

That would have been a great buy// bad mistake.
