Grudge match in the making

So...I'm deployed and a co-worker has an 03 WRX (Not an STI) and claims he will beat me on the drag strip. With my list of mods which doesn't reflect the FP Red, 1000cc injectors, S2 cams, and obviously a sweet @$$ tune, who do you think will win this match?

Better yet...what would he have to do to beat me? He won't tell me what he has or is planning on doing to his car, so what would he need to serve me a beating? Any owners or previous WRX owners please help with this. We've been laughing about it this whole deploymet. Well I've been at least.

I wouldn't worry too much. I owned 2 STis and unless he has tons of money to **** away he won't be much of a threat. It costs more to mod subie engines than 4g63s.

I just came back from deployment so I know he'll have $$ to spare but prolly not that much.

just hope he doesn't have a 2.5 swap with a 3076r or something. But those have a hard time with keeping up with fp red turbo evos anyways.

Ok so after pulling some teeth, I found out what he has. Exhaust w/ 3" piping, exedy clutch (claims stage 3), STI intercooler, short ram intake, Cobb access, headstuds, and a few other things. I figured I wouldn't talk smack with him just wait till we redeploy back home and let the run do all the talking. Itsme...no he doesn't have a 2.5 in there. I wasn't worried at all. I told him he'd have to put all supporting mods, C-16, meth, and a small shot of NOS to beat me.
I'll keep you all posted on the claims he makes. After this run, I'll make him trade it in for an EVO.

He will need atleast a 35r which on his motor which will need to be built. If he is on anything smaller than a 35r I wouldn't even sweat it. You are probably in the 400+whp close to 500 on race gas I assume. He probably isn't even breaking 300whp

Update...Sorry it took so long. Well...he finally seen my car at a light. He revved at me and when my light turned green I boosted past him and put the fear of God in him. Caught him a few days later and he asked for a ride. Not even 2 blocks later he admitted theres no way in hell he'd win a race with me...on the track that is. So he backed out and admitted the win before even racing.

Yeah, the 4G63 platform is much more inexpensive to mod, and reacts to those mods MUCH better than any STi would. The Subie IMO is a little better for a DD, but if you want all out power, the Evo is the way to go. He would have to have dropped a SIGNIFICANT amount of money in the car to have something to beat you (reliably that is), especially with that Red. From a dig the Evo will win most of the time, if he had sunk some good money into it, an Auto-X or Rally course, thats where it would have been interesting, of course you would need the sweet *** driver mod . Congrats on your win, and the respect he has now given your .

Cheers
