Cartek scams Z06 Owner :(
yeah really, shouldn't this guy be lucky it was ONLY a 50hp difference??? So what is he complaining about exactly then, the lifters and bore? If it wasn't 26k, i'd tell him to shut his mouth and be grateful they covered it under warranty.
I def think the dyno comparison was retarded, but you can't deny the guy did pay for some stuff he didnt get, and forget the lifters and pistons, there was services not performed! That block never even got bored....
Should at least get the products and a refund for the services.

There is a lot of variables to be comparing dyno number like he is doing. temps, gear selection for the pull, dyno type. Yes its is disappointing to make less power than expected, but he should just go to the track and see what it traps. If it is inline with others making 570+whp then he shouldn't worry about it.
As for the parts being swapped, that is just BS and fraud. I would have immediately went after cartek if that was me.

Actually we dont know anything about the first engine as it was destroyed at a race event from oil starvation. It could have been built just like the invoice says it was. They probably didnt re-use all of the parts that were damaged in that engine. The builder states that he substituted some parts in the rebuild - maybe due to availablity or convenience or maybe because the owner didnt want to repurchase those parts yet the engine failure was at least partially his fault. The engine being torn down is not the $26K engine, it's the engine that they replaced it with when they replaced the original engine.
If the owner has a real case he should take them to court. I'm guessing he doesnt have a leg to stand on, so he took it to the internet instead. The video's, his post, etc all reak of slander.
I'd rather hear the other side of the story before deciding the verdict.

^^ Uhm interesting.... the Z06 feautures a unique dry oil sump design exclusively tested for racing aplications. The Z06's high G pulling on braking , acelerating and cornering prompted the designers to go with a "remote" oil reservoir that would act as a oil pan thus recirculating the oil through out the block.
If the car was oil starved that could be a defective component. The Z06 displays the oil status via 5 different readings:
1) Oil pressure gauge on dash
2) Electronic oil pressure reading on LCD
3) Electronic oil temp reading on LCD
4) Via HUD display with 3 modes, street, track one and track 2
Last but not least, the Z06 computer displays faulty readings via LCD that shows"check gauges", all this is also accompanied by a warning sound.
A driver must be absolutely neglinent to dismiss all 6 warnings but still things can happen.

Every story has 2 sides that's for sure. Here is the response from Cartek.

I haven't read the whole thing and maybe I should, but from what I have read is that they warrantied a built motor and replaced parts with something different? Who warranties a built motor?
