First street driven C6 Z06 in the 8's

What is amazing about this car is that it is not a big $$ TT set up but a stock bottom end 427 with a A&A SC and an auto conversion with the other normal bolt-ons basically. I noticed he has the CCW drag pack on which I'm sure helps his 60ft's. He went for a 30 mile street cruise and then drove it to the track and laid down these runs...love the sound and that last run. WOW effortless!

Enjoy!

I'm not sure if I'm impressed or not.

Auto trannies may be lame, but they're faster and more consistent in the 1/4.

I have a deep disdain for Automatics, but to be honest there is no other way to go to have a enjoyable 8/9 sec. street car setup to drag race. Pump gas and full interior make this super sweet

Great job by all involved.

I Agree!

They did a great job with this car! It sounds so badass.

Jasil I also used to not enjoy driving a auto until I got the GT-R and had it on a road course and believe me your involved.

I wouldn't put an auto in my Z06 though because it sees double duty HPDE and Drag racing...plus I don't think I'll be hitting 8's anytime soon with the Vette. Maybe high 9's this summer with a 100 shot.

BTW how have you been?

Ya These hi HP American muscle drag cars and RRWD have to be Auto Now thats why the smarter people buy AWD and can still run 7 sec in the 1/4 with manual http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwNzbcEXudE

Sheps car is not a street driven car! It is a gutted out track only car.

There are lots of 7 sec cars out there both American and imports but most of them if any are not street driven cars like the car in the vid with full interior and AC etc. and FYI RWD cars in most cases post better 60fts than AWD cars at the track. Look at SW's world record holding Supra that ran a 7.9 and it's a RWD 6sp!

The Vette in the vid ran 1.32 60ft with just DR's...I'd say that's impressive and it's not a high dollar build as well.

Now go see which car breaks more...smart people do not buy AWD for drag racing. RWD has and always will be faster.

when you get to the really fast cars with LOTS of grip, the front tires are practically off the ground anyways.
