Why did they revise the engine ans invest so much money for such a modest torque gain? I can't beleive that they didn't bump the HP a little too. HP is marketed much more than torque, it really makes sense to bump Hp 10 up to 250 to compete better with the EVo and the STi. If there is any comparison or mention of the torque figure it only acts to highlight the weak point of this engine. I really don't get this "improvement."

It has a Higher and flatter torque curve. It may only be 20 FP's of torque, but accross the WHOLE RPM Band, whihc will do more then you think, think of the After Market too. *** it'll be easier to make more power.

I give you that there is more room to mod this engine, but don;t you think that it seems kind of stupod on Honda's part to develop a new engine with such similiar characteristics? I can't understand why the HP number was bumped up even a little bit? Also part of the charm of the S2000 is the high reving motor, and everyone who owns one knows that. It seems that they just reduced to appeal for most potential buyers without offering a more mainstream appropriate incentive to purchase the car.

I like how they added some more torque throught the whole RPM band. I just wish they got rid of that digital speedo and tach and go some nice dials, like in the TSX.

The '04 motor won't be any more tunable than the existing F20C... It's not a new motor, just a stroked out F20C. The consensus in S2000 land is that the changes are positive except for the new motor and softer suspension setup... Go figure

I second that, if my tall and fat *** could fit in one I'd have one right now.

I have yet to understand Honda cars. After owning a Honda, I would never get in one again, at least not if it was a performance oriented machine. To think that they have a torque number that is damn near 100 less than the HP number, that is just silly. How fun would the Evo be if it had 271 hp and 173 tq? Sure these cars will get you chicks, but if you need a car to get laid, then you got problems. I would rather stick to just paying girls for sexual favors and have a car that can accelerate when I want it to.

EDIT: nm. it needs foglights. and more hp. and loose the digital display, at least in that style. now a digital display that LOOKED like what we have in our lancers... that would be tight.
