Yeah I don't like the design turns of late for ANY manufacturer, not just BMW. I'm waiting for a car company to capture my imagination again.

Saw the new BMW rear end for the first time the other day on a 7 series. Pictures just don't do justice to just how ugly it is.

I'd like to say that Lexus quality is better than BMW. In terms of stupid **** going wrong, overall reliability and cost of ownership

Lexus > *crush sound* BMW

I feel the same exact way in terms of how similar they look.

If you want to point fingers then blame on the Japenese and korean manufacturers which copied many German designs for decades. Lexus copied the Mercedes sedans for many years.

^ oh ok, Lexus did it first, so now its ok for Bmw to stoop to that level also?? its like the kindergarten game, of who pushed who first? he did it, no he did it !
arent they the uber-proud Germans, with nearly a 100y history ??

^^ In reality maybe there was not even intention to copy each other. It might be just similarities. The thing is that this game has been there for a long time and is just not Lexus and BMW, it is like everyone copying everyone. I personally wouldn't care much if thje car was copied from another manufacturer, here what it counts is what the owner likes.

true, manufacturers see where their competitors did well, and rush to that "arena". whether its a new crossover, or a sleek design, or boxy design.... they try to stay with the "times" (which now seem to change like every 2 years, rather than every ~10years as it used to be)

but its still no excuse for such an experienced and storied company, to copy a relatively young and ambitious one. common, look at the photos again, inch by inch, identical! its their $100k+ flagship, and they couldnt come up with their own lines??? i can see honda/acura, or nissan/infiniti being so similar (there, it makes sense, as it always did). but never such direct opposites, or direct competitors....

way to go Lexus, i guess.... musta did a great job, if bmw is copying them with their flagship!
