Question about an Eclipse

Hola all. I'm pretty new to the site.
And I currently drive a 99' Eclipse.
I'm having problems with my door locks, and I just wanted some other opinions.

What I'm wanting to find out is, if the problem is my key, or the locks.
The problem is especially bad on the passenger side, and sometimes I have a problem with it in the ignition(rarely, but sometimes).

Problem;
for starters, I'm not sure if the key is only supposed to work one way in the locks, or if both sides of the key works.
Might sound like a stupid question, but it seems that my key only works on one side of the key, if I flip it over to the other side, it doesn't work. Same with in the ignition, if it doesn't work one way, flip the key over and it will work the other way. Is this normal?

And that doesn't bother me so much. The only thing that's really bothering me that I have a question on is; the door locks, the key doesn't want to unlock the door. It does the same thing as mentioned above, BUT it doesn't want to unlock either way that I put the key in. Although the key will move to the forward position as if it was locking the car, but it won't go back to unlock the car at all. And lately it's been taking me about 10 minutes just to get into my car. And it's getting frustrating. So does this problem seem like it might be the lock, or the key that's having problems. Someone at my work mentioned that I might want to spray some WD40, buttttt, I don't know. I'd just like some other opinions first.

Thanks! Hope someone can give me some good opinions.

First question I'd ask, is it your car.

No, I kid.
The key is double sided, should work either way.
WD-40 is bad for locks, only use graphite paste.

Well of course it's my car!

Haha. Hmmm yeah, I don't know what's wrong with my locks then.
Either the key, or the lock itself. :|

Is the key an old key or a new key? Sometimes newly cut keys have issues in old worn out lock cylinders where the tumblers have been worn down. If you have an old key I would suggest getting a new key cut by the code and then seeing if that helps. If that doesnt work you may have a cylinder issue.

COMPLETE LOCK SET w/ KEYS

INDIVIDUAL DOOR CYLINDERS - You would have to get them coded to match each other, but it looks like they come with keys.

The key that I have is an old key. I actually had a newly cut key too once that had problems working in the locks as well.

I guess I could try getting a new key cut, and see where it goes from there. If that doesn't work, I could get the parts you're suggesting.
Thanks for the info!!!
