It's not coming to the US, in any form. VW doesn't want the Scirocco to skim from GTI sales.

Can't say I agree with the decision, I've never considered a GTI for any purpose but the Sciorocco is appealing.

no chance of this coming to the USA. However i heard rumors of them doing an R20 version of the GTI MkVI with 250hp and AWD.

they failed with a 250hp V6 R32, yet they are hoping to strike it big, with a 250hp I4 R20 (unless they plan on making it significantly less expensive than the R32 was just last year)

i always wished vw would have done a 1.8 awd with a slightly bigger turbo. without awd my 25th ae 337 edition weighed in at 2890 lbs stock i believe. even better an rs version with awd!!

Easier to mod, and probably cheaper. I think it'd be a great success and some definite competition for the Ralliart, WRX or any other AWD models in that class. Plus it'd be a lot easier to mod than a V6 R32

yes, good idea i guess.... 4 doors, awd, high boost Turbo 4, and less pricey = totally different direction than the last R32

I don't get this car. Its just a GTi with what? A little more power and a widebody kit? Seems pointless to me, but I'm no big fan of VWs.

available in 2 doors immediately makes it better than the Ralliart or WRX in my opinion.
A 2 door turbo hatchback w/AWD would be absolutely brilliant

yes but when a small family can only afford one car, the "4door" wins every time

Give me one that weighs under 2800 and we might be talking. VW has been making porkers lately.

It'd be pretty hard to do a 2800 lb AWD car at a reasonable (sub $40k) price point.
