The SRT-4 puts out 285hp and 265 ft-lb, 0-60m is rated at 6.4 with 1/4 mile 14.9 @ 101.6. According to Modern Racer: http://www.modernracer.com/dodgecalibersrt4.html

It is actually considered a "wagon" Car and Driver put it up against the Volvo C30 T5, Subaru Impreza WRX, and Mazdaspeed 3.http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...st+page-2.html

The Caliber fell way short, base price is $26,390.

Yet a persistent tinny feel—the hood prop falling off in our hands, the wads of foam insulation sliding around in inadequate glue, the various engine rattles on shutdown—kept our hearts from fully defrosting for it.
Seriously, better off going with the Subaru WRX wagon.

Yea, that's what I meant to say. I see plenty of the soccer-mom standard issue Calibers; they make a lot of sense for someone needing less space than a full-size SUV, but a wee bit more space than a compact car.

However, soccer-moms are unlikely to opt for the SRT version even if dad would like the extra HP, simply 'cause it only comes in a stick. I think the Caliber SRT-4 would have broader appeal being offered in this type/size vehicle if it came with an automatic, or at least has an automatic option.

Here is a (sweet?) sounding Caliber SRT-4 with the muffler-delete mod.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S8qSBocXiM

That's got to be 50 additional HP. Minimum.

Ahhhhh...you meant full on SRT-4's!?!?!

I have not seen any driving around, the dealership near me had about 6 or so on the lot when I was looking for a new car 2-3 months ago.

I test drove one a couple months ago. Way to much torque steer. Couldn't keep the car straight under full acceleration. There is to much power for the front wheels that Chrysler limits the power through the first three gears. The car felt insanely unstable. Personally I think they are death traps unless you were to do some heavy suspension/lsd work to get their power under control. For example I punched the car in 2nd going straight and the car changed lanes on me and I couldn't control it.

Do a search and read any of the reviews on the Euro Focus Turbo RS.

Cliff notes: 305HP FWD with NO torque steer.

Sounds like they have licked the torque steer monster with some new front drive/steering set-up called Revo-Knuckle.

Here is a quick read:

My neighbor has one and... if you are a wheel person then you'll definitely love a car like that with 19" wheels and plenty of wheel space to grow.

The only ones I've ever seen around here had manufacturer plates on them. The Caliber was a flop. I rarely see the regular ones, so forget about seeing the SRT version.

That car would actually make me consider owning a Ford. Seeing as how Ford is "the" American car company, why can't they sell their good cars here? That is by far the nicest Ford car I've ever seen.
