My new "fun" car.
Apparently he does mind
No kidding. I've always wanted one of these, but I doubt I will ever own one, they are great looking, but never (IMO) worth the price. If I was into drag racing more, or lived somewhere where RWD wasn't a problem then I'd think about it a bit more I'm sure. Still, none of the "clean" ones I've seen have ever been under 20k. I'll make a kit car someday maybe and use Supra body panels
The car is, IMO, one of the sexiest cars of all time, but I betcha my 99 Carrera 4 with 30k miles on it was cheaper than this Supra, and (IMO) nearly as sexy
Regardless, congrats on the purchase man, and I'm definitely jealous, especially if you have a daily for the winters... Everytime I see a Supra (which is rare, but there's like 3 or 4 around here decently) I smile.
Maybe someday I'll find one of the non TT ones, in automatic, that some old lady drove for it's whole life, and buy it, give it a fresh paint job, and call it good. And just stare at it all day.

It wasn't cheap if you consider the age of the car.
Let's just say it was between $30,000 - $40,000.
Which is a "fair" price in the Supra market.

Congrats man! Great find. The age isn't considered as heavily (I say add 5 years to the build date) with the Supras IMO, just the mileage.
Actually a good question many people who go after the unmolested want a all original car, but this one doesn't fit the bill rims etc....maybe that's the plan?
I have a Corvette buddy like that. We are 100% totally different, but that's what makes life grand. He has a:
77 Big Block Vette 33k miles
91 ZR1 31k miles
02 Z06 17K miles
96 LT4 12k miles
All are bone stock sans for tires, wet sanded, original window stickers, manuals, and all. He knows every little nook and cranny on the cars. He used to be a drag guys in the 70's now he's a car show conversation piece type of guy. I'm becoming 50/50.

I'm not sure.
What would bother me a lot would be getting harassed by other performance car owners who think I have a N/A Supra; that alone would make me want to get some performacnce parts on the car.
Nonetheless, I just about to order some go fast goodies.
Maybe the previous owner felt bad about installing the window tint, wheels, and lowering springs to a stock Supra TT?

Nice pickup, the car definitely at least needs the basics, kinda looks ugly (i.e. n/t) without a FMIC
Sounds like my uncle. He has an '89 vette with ~10K miles, I believe it still sits on the OEM tires and the white convertible top is still as white as it was the day it left the showroom
