Any one good at setting up bike suspensions?
I have my sag set - for about 7/8's of an inch when I sit on it. Its 3rd from soft in the back and 4 lines showing up front. i am 175 without gear... so prob 185ish with gear. The bike is an 05 with 100% stock suspension - 5,000 miles on it.
now to me - it feels like the front of the bike is. light? if that makes sense. It feels like I feel TOO much of the road like its just not as planted as I think it should be.. or maybe I am just a bit paranoid from an accident I had a while back. Just wasnt sure which direction to go or what to look in to.
This is while crusing - not only on accel etc.. Just feels twitchy.. Just not sure if I am in the right ball park.
Front
Rebound: 3 clicks out
Compression damping: 7 clicks out
Rear
Rebound damping: 7 clicks out
Compression damping: 10 clicks out
The bike is a street only bike. No track use.

I don't know a ton about this. But on my cbr929 settings for basic sag are 30-35mm street use front and rear. This probably applies to sport bikes in general. I'd search a good forum, and start there. Then set rebound and damping settings mid range and see how you like it. Experiment with those front and rear rebound and comp settings once you are settled in to how the bike handles. Tire pressure, rear wheel alignment from bad chain adjustments need to be corrected right from the start.
Your specs don't mean much since each brand of bike is different in how many clicks it has for an adjustment range. There are good sites out there to help guide you based on your opionion of what the bike is or isn't doing. Hope that helps.

Ended up talking to someone who is a HUGE track nut on r6 forum. Got the sag set front and rear for 33mm.
Due to my front fork oil being basicly zero weight.. my rebound settings are near max to prevent to much bounce. The compression I am in the process of setting now. The trick has become - adjusting front and rear so that they both flex at the same rate - while using as much if not all of the travel in the spring/fork.
Confusing! argh.. and complicated.
