My sister is looking for something around the $12,000 mark

I prefer her to have an SUV with 4wd, however a larger sized sedan is not out of the question...pref around 30-40k miles, good gas mileage, reliable, safe.

Just wanted to see what everyone had experience with, any recommendations, ect? We were looking at the jeep patriot, maybe an escape or santa fe...any opinions welcome!

 

How bout a used Honda Pilot?

 

its going to be really hard imo to find a large suv 4wd for under 12k.. but good luck

 

the pilot's gas mileage is too bad, she does a lot of driving, maybe a CRV....we're looking for a mid-sized SUV not a large, and even still finding them around the 12k mark is tough, but doable. I've seen all of the cars listed above with 40k miles for 12xxx list, without negotiation...but you're right, most are 2wd

Thats why I was asking if anyone here had anyother suggestions I might be overlooking or any personal experience with any mid-sized suv type vehicles
