fastest project car
fastest project car
my friend and I built a sleeper from a '79 camaro
350 block bored out, solid lifters with fuelie heads,
3-angle valve job (where do you get that done anyways)
radical cam, etc etc pushing 475hp normally aspirated
Despite what people might think about this car, it's merely
a project car with no interrior (we ripped out, upholstered
two nice leather seats just for us)
Used a supersaw to make a hole for the shifter after we converted to manual tranny (result from wearing out one turbo 350, and blew up the tailshaft of another turbo 350. During the lifespan of those auto trannies we twisted a drive shaft and bent one like macaroni (the shaft that exploded coincidentally))
Nothing like driving a 475 beast that can be heard from 1/2 mile away (quite literally) with a stone crusher ... the good ol' days are becoming distant memories so quickly.
The only downside to this ride is that we live in a small town, and well ... after going for a 5 minute ride we have to bring the car back to his house and hide it out back before the police drive by.
I can recall waiting in a parking lot as he gave a friend a ride ... He hit a straight away about 1/4 mile from where i was and i could hear him hit 4th gear going down the road like it was a ******* siren going off
(not to mention it will spin its p335 tires through third gear without wincing ... which, is probably why we bent some drive shafts)
I think everyone should ride in a car like that before they can talk about a fun car

I rode in a 625+ whp supra.... about the only time I have been scared ****less going in a straight line.
was in chase/video car when my buddy raced a turbo 383 LT1 f-body - that was probably about 600+ hp with the way it walked away from a 400+ whp fd....
