My "new to me" 993 Carrera 2S
So I had the opportunity to purchase my dream car recently and had to make a difficult decision. While the Evo is an incredible machine, capable, fast, reliable, it was ultimately my toy and I decided to replace my toy with another toy.
The 993 C2S is slower, louder, probably less reliable, but it's a more pure driving experience. Traction control is handled by modulating my right foot, it has no cupholders, and ingress/egress can dislocate a kneecap. It also chugs loudly at idle and I cannot figure out how the heater works or even if it works. The ergonomics are terrible, it's probably dangerous in a wreck, will be expensive to repair, and the brakes are mediocre by today's sports car standards.
In other words, it's heaven. I can't wait to get it on the track.
The last picture of the Evo taken (and the only one with my other two cars):

And a pic of it sitting in the work parking lot:

I still can't believe I own it!

Nice, you have any plans for it yet? I would get rid of those wheels (porsche twists I think?). They really age the car a few years. Some upgraded, more modern wheels and you're golden imo.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!
Most of my plans involve repairing odds and ends that break on a 12 year old car to bring it closer to pristine. The front fascia has been cracked and the grill needs to be replaced. The grill is a $31 part, the fascia is a $1967 part so I'm hoping it can be fixed instead of replaced.
The previous owner put fresh Bilstein shocks and H&R springs on it so other than having it corner balanced and aligned, the suspension is in good shape. I'll probably need to take a look at the motor mounts and other assorted bushings that have worn over the years.
I will be adding wheels at some point. The 996TT turbo twists use 225/295 tires which make it understeer terribly. I'm looking at getting a set of CCW Classics with gunmetal centers with a wide front footprint.
Otherwise, I'm just going to drive it!

That wasn't a douche nugget statement or anything.
But, then again, looking at your list of cars your taste is so awesome!
Anyways, OP, if you are handy at all I can probably guide you through repairing that bumper. I've done a ton of plastic welding and painting.

I can only hope, my friend. 12 years worth of wear on seals, gaskets, and bushings only raises my concerns.
I did about 19 track days on the Evo X, driving to and from the track, without a single incident. I can only hope to have similar success with my older German car.
