It's Clarkson, he hates almost everybody, and hating on America is typical for British humor. Take it with a grain of salt and move on.

 

Bingo, it's no different than all his ***** jokes with the Germans, surrendering with the French, crazy socialism with the Swedes, etc.

well he did his job in getting under your skin, thats his type of humour. he bashes on almost everything... i actually find him pretty funny.

 

put that M5 vs a e63 and see whats up then LOL,, even the cts-v lost to the e63 in the car and driver review

 

I Really enjoy Top Gear and what they have to say about the cars they review. I find most of what they say funny So what he bashes On American Cars. I personally Don't care to much for them ether :P I am glade he doesn't like the Ford lightning I am also glad that he thinks the SRT is Rubbish. I don't like it at all ether. His comment about The M5 having 2 more cylinders yet its has 1000cc smaller motor and it still makes more power and is a faster car. I mean really why do a lot of the American Performance Cars (I am not saying all) have to have 6.? or even 8.!? liter engines to make 400-500 HP??? How can Japanese cars and pretty much all the import Sports cars make close to 100 hp per liter and most of the American cars need to make up for it in extra engine displacement? I am just saying my opinion here but I agree with Mr. Clarkson on how Rubbish some cars are

 

He's kind of like an automotive Andy Rooney.

 

Don't forget that Clarkson owned a Ford GT and absolutely loved the Viper and the Corvette. He doesn't hate American cars in general, he hates crappy and slow American cars.

Clarkson is a known Ford fan in general. I think that Lightning review is the only time I've seen give a bad review to a Ford.

 

He has the habit of pissing off entire countries. There's a reason why there's a section of his wiki dedicated to some of the crap he's said. IMO, he's been pretty mild to us. Germany was ****ing pissed when Clarkson described that they should make a "quintessentially German" Mini Cooper "with turn signals that only go up and down (think **** salute) and a GPS that only goes to Poland."

 

Truth hurts!! We build some crappy cars stateside which is why we all drive japanese cars
