honda help

I have a 91 honda civic, with a 1.5 liter 16 valve engine. the problem im having is it has some what of a hard time starting, but it still starts. but when i try to floor it, it will stumble and kill the engine. ive already checked the valve clearance, every thing was good, i got new plugs and wires, also a new fuel filter, and a new distributor cap as well as rotor. If you know of anything i can do to fix this problem i will apreciate it.

Try replacing the distributor with a known good one. Hondas' are notorious for their Igniter located inside of the distributor.

First check your timing... it sounds like it's severely retarded.

try to replace the whole distributor(or just the ignitor)...

then check your O2 sensor(s?)...

Double check all your electrical connectors to make sure they're connected and that they have voltage... mainly those around the intake manifold....

if it's none of the above, then your fuel system is at fault..... fuel pump? injectors? wiring?

good luck
