I really like how they have re-styled it. It was already a gorgeous car in my eyes now they made it even better.

1. The Mercedes Benz car is retained with the 6.2-liter V-8 engine (capable of producing 451 hp and 443 lb-ft torque).


2. An electronically regulated top speed of 155 mph and can go upto 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

3. An optional AMG Development Package which can boost the power to 481 hp and a top speed of 174 mph.

4. An AMG SpeedShift MCT seven-speed transmission (Was currently only offered in the SL AMG's)


5. Four driving modes S, S+, M and C with a Race Start function.

6. AMG sports suspension with a modified front axle, reinforced rear axle and wider front and rear track.

7. A new radiator grille with a single cross bar. AMG daytime running lights as well as single-vent side air outlets.

8. New head light lenses, five double-spoke AMG alloy wheels in titanium grey, with 235/45 and 255/35 18-inch tires.

9. A new AMG bumper cover with a three-fin black diffuser in the rear.

10. Revised dashboard design and integrated TFT display screen.

For an AMG, the styling is a bit tame. Usually they spice it up a bit more for an aggressive look... This still says "I'm the grocery get away car" to me?

 

I like it!

But curious as to why the 6.2L in the C class AMG is rated at 451hp? Is it detuned so it doesn't step on the toes of its bigger, more expensive AMG brother's?

The S,SL,E,CLS, etc. class AMG's have the same basic 6.2L motor but are rated at 500+hp.

My thoughts exactly!!! They do have the package bumping up the horses to 481hp but I'm sure you probably pay a lot for a 19 hp increase.

 

It's rated low from the factory to make the E and S class buyers feel better about their purchase. Also the C63 have really restrictive exhaust system. C63 with headers, exhaust, and tune have been capable running mid 11's pass. There's one that actually ran high 10's in 1/4 mile.

 

I'd rock it...maybe it's time to part with the X and get something nice

 

Not sure about that article, $100,000 for the C-Class AMG??? Are they nuts? Thats almost 30k higher than the current one.

 

i love all the amg's. c63, or cls63 will be my next car (used of course). i really like the look of cls, but c63 seems like it would handle much better, and full bench seat will be better for kiddos.
